oh there's a sitechat thing? i'll open that up~
i've played tabletop games before (AD&D and Pathfinder to be specific) but it's been like 2 years so I think I'm rusty enough to qualify as a newbie? :\
i no longer strictly go by they/them and honestly prefer she/her but they/them's fine if you're used to it i guess
there's a very high likelihood the party tpk's from drowning btw
also
what are the restrictions on spells i can use besides based on my deity? like when i pray to st. cuthbert can i just ask him for any spell as long as i can cast it
^asked in sitechat idk if gif or fg are on but i just want to know if i should be writing my spells in my character sheet or not (if i can just look at the 20srf)
thanks for getting back to me fg~

yes
say you have 12 dex (+1 mod), fight with a rapier, and have a tower shield. you'd take -9 on your to-hit roll (1d20-9) since a tower shield is a -10 penalty

i'm shook
also andrius i'm not really sure about marching formation - i'm thinking we go diamond shaped? it's kind of tough though when not everyone has their general characters done but dunn stands in front, Fire and Growlithe handle the flanks, i probably take the back, and the fragile people can be in the middle?
also do you think i should stick to power attack as my feat or should i go for combat reflexes instead? tough choice tbh

as for combat reflexes I took it myself and it's supposedly good with ranged; it's based on dex though so you'd -only- get 1 additional attack of opportunity
yeah that's my conundrum
i'm using a reach weapon too so more AoOs are cool but my character is so stretched thin in trying to be decent at everything idk if i can afford the dex to make it useful
edit: wait shit i dont even have a base attack bonus yet i can't even use power attack LMAO... my next feat comes at level 3 though so

ok uh
sorry to get everyone's hopes up but yeah most likely i'm not going to be able to do tomorrow even if i do have a free hour or two tomorrow. roll20 runs like utter shit on my ipad (it's really old). i'll see if i can borrow my sister's laptop but i highly doubt it'll work out

honestly
i wish communist was a viable profession

i probably have to finish writing my backstory first - i'm at the part where raia first becomes radicalized after being arrested for speaking out against the corrupt captain of the city guard
i just got to our hotel so i should have a moment to sit down and write in an hour or two
but yeah i'm down for the fight for orc rights

sorry dunn
tbh i probably would have focused on self-buffing so if the sheer power of an enlarged raia with divine favor and shield all at once is enough then cool but tactically i feel like healing would not have been useful
plus theres the issue of me spreading out buffs throughout the day, not sure how many encounters there were
btw i replaced power attack with scribe scroll, i figure it has more utility all game while i cant use power attack until level 2 anyway

Hey FG, so how are the campaign hooks working for Dunn's new character and mine? Should we stick to the same ones? idk i was just a bit confused since i figured it would be weird if a bunch of people were employed by the same person were seperated - i'm not sure how we're going to be introduced into the story basically
i did have some ideas as to how Dunn and I would work together and be in the area, but they did require some creative liberties on the hooks (i.e. almost completely ignoring them) but they WOULD work perfectly with my backstory . Obviously as the Gm it's your call and I have 0 issue working in one of the campaign hooks of you prefer that.
Just asking now since I'm basically done with my backstory and just have to tie it into the current story. (though figuring out how i'll upload it from my iPad wo wifi is going to be a pain in the ass lmao).
sorry for being so extra \_o_/

this sounds dumb but do i have to buy a copy of Saint Cuthbert and Common Sense? like i'd assume that if i were travelling with another follower of saint cuthbert our church would be providing us with scriptures. i do want to carry a copy but i know it's not required for a cleric.
using the same rule you gave for the journal it'd be ~12 gp based on the wikipedia page for St. Cuthbert which i can afford but with the last purchased i'd be making i'd be left with 1 gp when i was hoping to buy some more survival gear
speaking of said survival gear how much would string cost? (i'm assuming it'd come in things of 50 ft. like rope?)

Spoiler: List of chalk symbols
so since raia has chalk and i have no clue what we're doing i made a piece of parchment with all of the symbols i could think of that you'd need to mark on a wall
basically when/if we send erwin out to scout in a cave or a mine or something he can mark places near traps, treasure, monsters, or places that look ok to sleep (easy to guard, can set up a bell trap, etc) or are empty. not sure if there are other symbols that could be helpful but the nice thing about this is that roll20 lets us draw directly onto the map (not sure how fg rules that but preemptively i can't see an issue)
pardon the fact i cant draw on a mouse though the basic shapes are all you really need to know
ALSO i finally finished my backstory smdh -_______- - sheet should be 100% done now
i still swear that i forgot to purchase something btw

I have no use for leather armor (maybe we can rework it for houndour? for sure it's human sized so we can't just throw it on him sadly), can't see Raia using poison, and I use a sling not a crossbow
I'm fine not taking any of it \_o_/
