oh it has a max
still, cool!
he's always been my favorite "tank" jungler
i really hated this patch and its impact on botlane, so i'm glad it's over
i'm more likely to try aftershock lissandra in a few normals after the changes to its ratios
apparently it's confirmed that aurelion sol performs best w glacial augment, and it was just buffed, so i'll probably play him a lot more
i used those nerfed precision keystones a bit. wonder if i'll stop.
people i dislike that the aggro changes will hurt:
katarina (oof!)
kass
diana
malzahar
yasuo
quinn..?
akali!
brand
all them hextech gunblade abusers tbh
people i love who are hurt:
teemo :(
singed
lissandra i guess
people i just feel bad for:
ryze
annie
anivia
geez even ignite and smite attract minion aggro now
overall i feel...benefittedYou can't step in the same river twice.-

hello in the middle of s1 atm
http://na.op.gg/champion/ekko/statistic ... mpionId=84
ekko is really good right now
if you look at the matchups here, you'll see that he's only troubled against champions nobody actually plays
as he's really safe and all i think he'll be the first damage-oriented melee champ i finally really focus on
don't have the heart to use him in the jungle, too, though! You can't step in the same river twice.-

I like ARAM for what it is. A short abstraction of league where you can focus on making the most of the champion you get with the solace that one way or another it'll all be over soon. I feel like the format encourages play for play's sake better than league does. But for some reason I'm a guy who needs stakes. You can't step in the same river twice.-

is karthus jg viable again?
Ive been wanted to do that since I liked him.
Also I’ve always dreamed of running Liss jg as her ganks are pretty phenomenal when she gets the chance to do them.
Just plz tell me how you are making these mage junglers work it would be a dream come true for me if they were viable. You can't step in the same river twice.-

so karthus jg is definitely workable too
he's no taliyah but his clear is as fast and healthy as any tier 1 jungler's (arguably faster!) and thanks to his wall of pain and sheer damage (the most of any jungler!) his ganks aren't half bad - and that's not even counting his ult
his big weakness is vulnerability to invades as an immobile mage with only his W for soft CC.
but even that, i think is easy to overstate for a few reasons
the biggest reason is that his low CD, almost free mana cost, high range Q gives vision!
that means that throughout his clearing process he has the option to scout bushes and other spots from safe distances before approaching them
that's a big deal!
beyond that, unlike other mages, he doesn't have to worry about CDs (his Q and E essentially don't have one, and he doesn't need his W for clear) and so will always have the option to fight back if an enemy tries to solo him - at least early, he likely outdamages them if he can successfully land his Qs and sees the enemy coming; indeed, he often also takes phase rush and can readily proc it given his kit, meaning he'll be able to benefit from the speed and slow resist to escape situations where he's forced into a fight
so overall i'd say that karthus is the real deal as a mage jungler in a way that would be hard for another other mage to match without riot setting their sights on him;
he's got obvious and subtle tools at his disposal that make it a less crazy idea than it might first seemYou can't step in the same river twice.-

i really like taliyah, even after the new nerf
for some reason id never been able to get over her big downside of having no reliable escape/cc plus poor range (despite often playing karthus!)
but now the trade-off feels so worth it as far as damage and roaming is concerned (especially roaming)You can't step in the same river twice.-

after the 8.9 buffs and addition of nimbus cloak, kennen mid feels much better than when i first tried him
his waveclear was too weak before against most matchups for efficient roaming, but now it's about lux tier (though he still needs to get his E off on the wave)
and of course his DPS and ability to stick to enemies (a la nimbus cloak, which gives him 100 movement speed 1.5 secs into his ult) is much better
considering s8 overall, the accessibility of hourglass and relative scarcity of mana are also boons for him
he now feels like a guy who's sufficiently strong and useful throughout the whole game against a wide enough variety of enemies
downsides, though: poor range, clear is still midtier, a rather telegraphed engage, has to be in the middle of a fight to be most effective
overall i'd say he's quite similar to annie in these respects, except i'd say he's actually in a better spot than her right now due to marginally better kill pressure, waveclear, and safety
like annie,
he's very much about correctly positioning his ult and must put himself into danger to do that
hard cc is output by a passive that depends on sequencing skills
E gives him a temporary resistance boost
he can farm for basically free
two ns in their name
small
???
but unlike annie
there's not a little bar near his name telling you when he's nearly able to stun you (though on the other hand he'll never be able to do so instantaneously unless he has his ult, and the enhanced AA of his W actually does get telegraphed),
his E along with its resistances also gives him 100% bonus MS and ghosting which makes for access to engage and escaping that annie lacks,
his waveclear is quicker/freer for much of the game (with the caveat that he has to be in the wave with his E up to make the most of it),
his burst is probably more lame and he does have to literally be in the middle of a fight to make the most of his ult, to be fair
i think he'll be my secondary when going zilean mid seems like a bad idea for my compYou can't step in the same river twice.-

btw kennen mid is still a hard bargain because of his poor clear
since it's tough for him to exert other forms lane pressure against a lot of matchups too due to his range, i'd have to say he's a rather situational guy
btw if you ever wanted a quick way to download the stats table at champion.gg i have a tool in my wiki that does that for youYou can't step in the same river twice.-

heimerdinger bot is the best thing that's ever happened to me lolwise
ever since the rework there's no area in the game where i feel weak with him
in lane im a bully, in teamfights i have a great engage with my ult-e and reliably deal tons of damage, my turrets take down objectives super quickly and can ward brushes or scout over walls, my spell range is crazy meaning i never really have to take much risk at all to exert pressure, and i have pretty reliably hard cc and a MS boost around turrets for self-peel
like, the only thing my kit is missing is a dash! You can't step in the same river twice.-

jungle taliyah has proven tough to get the hang of, but i at least am comfortable with her clear and even ganks now
keeping from feeling useless when we get behind feels hard, though. Her range and the unreliability of her CC makes her feel either vulnerable or useless in fights depending on how safely she's played
playing her feels so scary, like every little decision is life-or-death (kinda like when I play Zoe) and I've maybe always preferred avoiding that kind of drama
eh
by the way, i'd really like to be able to see where her W will land before I cast it, yknow? On quickcast-with-indicator, which is my default, I can hold down Q and see where her skillshot is pointed before I commit to actually using the Q. But with the two cast way W works, pressing the W commits you to using it wherever your mouse is, and releasing W just does the second cast. I'd like a way to preview my W without casting it.You can't step in the same river twice.-

i need my pool of junglers I can play confidently to be bigger than "Ivern" since he's not suited for current meta and various compositions but it's hard to find anyone I can *commit* as far as putting in the time necessary to get good at the champ is concerned
i guess that's a good sign i should quit jungle and focus on abusing heimy or something, but i really dig ivern, and jungling in general - the game feels like most like a strategy game when im jungling
hopefully nunu will be a good candidate, but i suspect he will share ivern's weaknesses rather than complementing him in my pool
i need someone with more...pressure
someone whose options when an earlygame encounter with the enemy jungler aren't mainly "run away" or "call for help"
but maybe that kind of play just isn't my styleYou can't step in the same river twice.-

a lot of people (maybe most people) come into league and similar games with heavily personalized play options wanting to win in a certain way, rather than just in the "optimal" way
they'd rather be a silver 5 riven player than a gold 5 garen player, and might not even play the game if they didn't have that choice
besides, and i think this might be important for you to internalize, if they're the kind of person who plays riven top and is silver 5, and you're close enough to their mmr to be placed into games with them, they aren't really dragging you down by continuing to play riven top. They're at your mmr because they win about as reliably with their high skill main as you do with your low skill main! You can't step in the same river twice.-

ive tried but i dont think i can commit to amumu like i have to ivern
it might be because of outdated kit/visuals, or maybe because of how simple he is, or maybe the way he has no self peel, or some of all of that, but he just hasn't captured my heart even after a lot of games
new nunu is similar to amumu in some key ways (namely being an engage-oriented cc tank w/ big aoe cc in his w/ult) and seems assuredly easier to fall in love with, so maybe he'll end up working
taliyah also still seems pretty cool, and definitely has damage in a way that ivern doesn't. I feel like the only thing keeping me from maining her is just how bad I'm still at her. I feel like playing Ivern has spoiled me and made me someone who reacts too hard against champs who need to play well in order to not die. I'll try to keep putting more games into her, at least going for level 6. Why, I don't think I'm even 6 with Amumu yet (getting an S with him is tough!).
Finally, I think I've found some ways to improve my Ivern play so that I can more reliably win in bad comps or matchups. For example, since I die pretty rarely, even for an Ivern, I can probably afford to fit a dark seal and even a mejai's into my build with the investment reliably paying off more often than not. Some playtesting suggest that doing so greatly improves my snowballing and even makes dueling safe and doable. Buying mobility boots at least for the early game and playing around that seems to have a similar impact. And I've studied Ivern's W a bit more closely in a couple of two-laptop customs to improve how I use it to control vision. And I can probably shift how I use my Q in some scenarios where instead of using it to hold down enemies I use it to get over walls and whatnot - still need to study that one, though. Finally, I could maybe start duoing in the ranked games I feel like jungling in so that I'll have a reliable carry in every game who understands how to make the most of my somewhat interactive kit. If all that works out maybe I'll just focus on Ivern and be fine having a secondary like Amumu who's uncomplicated even if I can't fall in love with him.You can't step in the same river twice.-

I'm gonna try Karthus as my alternate to Ivern for when the rest of my comp is already high in utility and needs damage. He's off-meta, but he deals more damage than any jungler in the game, has a very fast clear speed, and I'm already very experienced with him. I need to suss out just *how* impractical he'd be and whether teammates will just riot when I pick him, but games I've played so far haven't been a struggle at all. Eventually I'll either have enough courage to try him in ranked or just abandon him.You can't step in the same river twice.-
