even though people are talking about ending the day with ircher, i have had very few townies submit their productivity for the day. so either

(1) most of them are playing much more conservatively than i thought would happen, OR

(2) there is a collective brainfart on when the productivity is supposed to be submitted, and come nightfall there is going to be a collective facepalm from like 75% of the town

i mean, i did say in about 3 places that the productivity is a DAY mechanic. so i judge this as not my fault.

My way around that is to give short mandatory quizzes for unique mechanics in confirmation.

eg. From my run of Guardians: "You have 36 hours to confirm by responding with your role name, an acknowledgement that the Saboteurs have daytalk, and the answer to the question "Can you move your vote when placed Day 1?"

you see, i decided to have faith that, if their role pm's say "please read the rules", the players are going to read the rules.

i will probably do something like that the next time i run some nonsense like this.

Arsonist seems incredibly unlikely, especially given the extra kills.

Mechanically I think it has to be either be a serial killer, or a traitor able to submit 0 (or negative) productivity.

I am not sure that the favor claim was all that out there given:

he was a forum mafia player

my role is "discord mod"

"people using the cafe for its free wifi" seems in line with the flavor

for the record, "reddit mod" was a role that i was originally thinking of having as a town role, but then it was cut at some point

the idea of the flavour text was something along the lines of "being a reddit moderator doesn't pay the bills, gotta go an actual real job"

also yes, scum did indeed have flavour safeclaims

that's what mala was informed of (in flavour, she was informed who had already worked in the café before and quit the job, hence the layoffs in the company record books)

the issue is that if your role is town, it generates clears, but you yourself are not actually clear. so depends on if they think they can actually get you misyeeted and not have you shrink the poe too much.

if i was sk and thought you were town, i likely would've killed you too

though *arguably*, you were a threat even if you're scum fakeclaiming, because if you're generating "clears" that are not-sk (and town keeps yeeting outside them), or if you fakeclaim a guilty on the sk, that is obviously A Problem

in this specific scenario, i think i'd leave scum-you alive for one more night purely because i'd know i'd really need the firepower, but /shrug idk bad at mech
