I'm having a hard time trying to figure how NPC's work. Do they vote? Can they be scum (or some of them)? Are they vengeful??

You can consider NPCs as non-vengeful townies*. (With some exceptions)

They're here mostly for flavor.

Leon, yeah I hadn't realized it was multiple teams yet but basically what I meant was gamma learned a tell and seemed proud of himself for spotting it in a way that seemed like he genuinely believed mastina must be town. Genuine belief in a read is usually more likely to be town than scum. Also sounds like you have more experience playing with gamma than I do.

I mean Grey was told to check the mod PT in the sign up thread which was before the opening post was published.

For what it's worth, I both took that as a joke and forgot it was grey.

Freddie walks out with his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, in stride toward the ring. He high fives the fans toward the ring. As he approaches the ring, he walks up the steps before leaning down to give his wife a good luck kiss before stepping into the ring and looking to main event Wrestlemania.

"It's about to be time for our number ten! Following Freddie, I'm not sure I can be more surprised than I already am.

"And I stand corrected. It's the eighth wonder of the world! The largest man in WWF history. It's Andre The Giant!"

"So now we're wrapping up the second third of this match. Who's it going to be? "

"It's Jesse The Body Ventura! The Body is going to school these wrestlers and show them how it's done!"

"It's time for number twenty one to step into action. Who will lead off our last third of our contestants?"

"This is a disgrace. But we have our time clock and hopefully entry twenty-two will bother to show up!

"This song sounds familiar... What's going o-"

The announcer is cut off we hear a strike of lightning. Suddenly, lines of fire go down the entrance of the stage down toward the ring and we find a 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 come out of nowhere and racing toward the ring. The car screeches to a halt and manages to stop right before it could hit the ring.
Shortly after, the wings vertically open and two familiar faces step out.

: "Doc! Where the hell are we?"

: "Marty, I believe the more pertinent question is

when

the hell are we? I do believe we're in the year 2017."

: "We've gone too far, Doc! We were supposed to get to November 8th, 2016. That's the year Biff Tannen became President!"

Marty pulls a picture out of his wallet:


: "Unfortunately, he's still president. The timeline hasn't changed." Doc Brown pokes his head inside of the DeLorean. "There has been a miscalibration with the Flux Capacitor. That's not a big issue. I can fix that. The real issue is that we don't have enough Plutonium to get us back to 2016!"

: "That's probably not a big issue, right? We need to go back in time like six months in the past. So we only need a little bit of Plutonium, right?"

: "That's not how time travel works, Marty! Seriously. We've been hanging out for so long and you don't even seem interested in asking me the simplest questions of time travel and its mechanics. You don't care when you have some scientist who can do all the work!"

: "Hey, don't get so uppity! I mean, this isn't the first time you forget to get extra plutonium. Old age must be hard for you. But I mean, we're in the future. We can't just borrow some from the Libyans, can't we?"

: "Oh, the Middle East and America aren't... exactly... on the best of terms right now. But there are some athletic individuals in this boxing ring over there!"

: "Oh, that's right! Perhaps we should go up to them and ask them where to find some Plutonium!"

: "But hold on, Marty! Many of these wrestlers are not wearing shirts. Perhaps in this time, shirts are outlawed. We should probably reach the levels of semi-nudity!" Doc Brown begins to unzip his white outfit until Marty yells.

: "Oh, God! No! Doc, let's not even think about any of your loose skin becoming exposed. I can't handle that. That's just too heavy. Let's take the risk and ask them the damn question."

Both Marty and Doc enter the ring and innocently ask random wrestlers where to find Plutonium.

"I'm sorry, but I doubt anyone is going to be able to come in and match the noise caused by Eddie Guerrero. Prove me wrong, and I'll eat my hat."

did two-person scumteams get two shots in the lottery, while massive got only one? or was it per faction?

It wasn't by faction, it was by person. Whoever won it, could kill.

But I through all names who could kill into a hat (specifically, I used random.org's list randomizer). I would randomize 3x and would pick the 7th name.

Here's where it gets interesting:
- If you eliminated an NPC, your name would go in again.
- If you were on the bandwagon of the person eliminated, your name would go in again.

If people knew all this, I think they would have tried to eliminate everyone and bandwagon quicker.

I feel this game is just Survivor with a shit ton of two person teams instead of a even split of 2 or 3 teams.

Well duh. Everyone is actually a SURVIVOR by their win condition. Some of us just had partners, and Not Chara was "town" so that Kuroi could say 'there is town in this game' without lying.

Had justice been served and I received another nightkill, I would have shot mastina, she would have flipped scum, and I'd ride that to a victory. Ah well.

If you shot Mastina, nothing would have happened. She's a 1-time death proof scum and hasn't been targeted for a kill yet.

It's not broken. Luckily, Mastina has a boost that helps her. And only two other people know about this, one who will fight hard to make sure she doesn't die.

Everyone still has the same rough chance to win.

And like I said, even if they did (which they didn't), it's not broken for other adjustments to the characters you don't know about.
