That's a reasonable point. However, there's an element of WIFOM (on a grander scale) to picking your fake clear if you're doing that as scum, and going for someone *too* widely townread could lead to you being disproven by an errant watcher/tracker in the wrong place at the right time. Also, as I said, I think there's a danger to getting too fixed on the claim in a game like this over the posting and what that says about the person.

Definitely agree, but I also found no major issues in the overnight post apart from him being likely wrong about some things. He's not locktown to me, but he's close.

That said, every single read Nos offers is utterly inoffensive apart from Taly - I genuinely struggle to see how anyone can call this slot scum given the amount of work they have put in to gamesolving, their claimed actions, and Nos' complaints about the slot read entirely non-genuine. The Keychain comments also indicate a complete lack of engagement in the game, or completely forgetting what kill was submitted by scum. Possibly both.

Think of it as me confirming what role I have tonight, as since I didn't exactly choose it's a little unclear to me.

Okay, this isn't seriously a part of my catchup, but I'm going to choose to take this as a compliment. Like, yes, I aim as town to be transparent, to scumhunt (and apparently to do so I just need to follow my gutreads more often) and to avoid doing what I did in world.createNew(Utopia everHope) again unless the situation calls for it or it would be particularly amusing.

I did a really bad in phrasing it but yeah, it was a compliment. It's wild.

I'd rather have Taly as town too, I'd prefer a beeboy lynch today in a way, I want to get rid of this scumread too but every post is like stabbing myself in the eyes. It might be a playstyle thing with the buddying and the "helping" and so on but I have to ask don't I?

2nd. If it wasn't such a widespread thing outside of a few players, and the Nos associatives with YT that Taly mentions didn't exist, I would be seriously diving deep on GIF for their drop-off in the last couple of days.

I mean they don't. He misread very hard. Only associative is that I didn't join the wagon for goodboy points when I wasn't needed to make the lynch happen.

Disagree. Tora got the rope for lolhammering and disappearing (arguably lurking, but the lolhammer is a policy thing for me). Wheme was playing against town meta, flipped on Srceen for no reason, and then flailed and didn't engage with lines of questioning. YT arguably was lynched because of the NSG lurktell, but their stated views also made little to no sense from a town perspective, or indeed from anyone who had actually read the game.

YT was voted up before they even started their catch-up. YT also wasn't very active in-thread when he was here. I don't think there's anything in that catch-up that could have saved that slot considering the circumstances. I figured the Tora wagon was a lurkwagon as well. This is where I get the 2/3.

- "Buddies" people in order to gain information, create discussion, DRAW attention to THEMSELVES, AND for cohesion in a game.

((There's seriously nothing more Pro-Town than to WORK with your townreads in a game, I'd argue, even if they are inaccurate.))

- Reverses on reads a lot when sees evidence that suggest them being wrong.
- Really doesn't give a shit about being wrong, as long is it doesn't lead them to being on mislynch wagons, or missing scum wagons.
- Defends reads when they feel a wagon or narrative is unjust or odd; hard-defenses are as fickle as they are strong in conviction.
- Says and does dumb things in order to preserve activity, gamesolving.
- Actively states what they dislike and like about the gamestate to gear it towards a perceived "pro-town" path.

Conclusion: Town-Taly

does everything in his power to enhance his, and his townreads' perception of the game, really weary of the game narrative, and reads/thoughts can come across as very inconsistent and not well-understood... because as long as he's not getting mislynched, why should Town-Taly concern himself with how he's perceived?

Scum-Taly

- "Buddies" people in order to POSITION self to get towncred, and charisma post-flips.

((Very concerned with accuracy AND consistency, this is in the sole pursuit of being townread.))

- Rarely, if ever, reverses; and if I do, it's done in a very methodical manner and SUBTLE manner.
- Gives a shit about being wrong, creates ARGUMENTS in order to DEFEND self from any discrepancy or mistake they make.
- Hard-defends what they KNOW to be town, and with valid, strong reasoning that makes them APPEAR towny.
- Says and does dumb things in order to AMPLITY AtE.
- Actively states what they dislike and like about the gamestate in order to muddy the waters of said gamestate.

Conclusion: Scum-Taly

deepwolfs like a motherfucker, and plays consistently in a manner that weaves a pro-scum narrative through an accurate, structured game approach... because if Scum-Taly "looks" like an infallible player, why would ANYONE come for him with credible information?

NAI-Taly

- Highly oriented in TEAM play; which can be perceived as pocketing, buddying, or "sheeping", despite having individualistic reasons for any action.
- AtE's with GENUINE emotion; but the scum-motive is manipulative, while the town-motive works to understand.
- Posting activity, walls, and frequency are NAI... it's based on my mood, and care for the game; which can change as either alignment.
- Town-Taly may situationally play like Scum-Taly, or vice versa to either understand the game, or become townread.

Possible, but if someone were to fakeclaim gunsmith, I just don't think you ever "clear" someone like me. If people believe you, then you've "cleared" someone who was scumread by multiple people and if you're going to try to make an ally by clearing them, why do it with someone who has so little town-pull? It's just very hard to believe scum fakeclaims like he did and fakes me as the check.

can look VERY similar, and sometimes, look VERY opposite of the other.

But they have very different drives in the game, if you look deeper.

Yeah, we've been in a gamelong PT since the first 12 hours of the game, where we have both daytalk and nighttalk.

And part of my townread on him, and then very quick-rapid reversal to a scumread on him, is partially based on the CONTENTS within the PT.
