Hello guys!

So umm, I was gonna run for president, but now I'm thinking the field is maybe too crowded for me? So does anyone like want a running mate as vice president? Or would you be interested in voting for me if I did throw my hat in the ring?

But before you answers those questions, you probably want to know a bit about me. I like to think of myself as a small government type of guy, if you get what I mean. I don't want any contracts or lists of rules to terrorize citizens with. My philosophy on that is I'll do my job and let the mod do theirs. There's no need to list off tons of rules and kill those who don't follow them.

The second thing you're going to love about me is that I'm an independent thinker. I'm not the type to get into a group think philosophy and kill the townie that's struggling. I'm going to hunt very hard for scum and not let people stray me from that task for any reason.

And lastly, I'm going to be precise in my actions. I'm not going to sit around for a full week making no progress and then no lynching. I plan to operate this nation efficiently. I have something already in the works on how I plan to operate more efficiently and if you're interested in supporting me, I'll gladly talk more about that later.

Fighting Dreamers - reading the RANDOM CAPITALIZATION is a pain, but I like the party tenets. From her opening, I think that ruby is more likely than not town but I don't see her defining an actionable way of achieving her campaign promise of 'day1 scum lynch', whereas Dreamers are explaining how they want to run the party and use it to find scum.

Mutant - 35 feels kinda LAMIST imo. Like you're inherently in a conflict over who gets to become president, and you're appealing to her to work with you 'for the benefit of town'- how does one do that in this context? It feels like a nice thing to say but I'm not really sure what you were expecting from her in response there.

Mutant - 51 - Actually I take that back, that's a lot more nuanced than the previous post. Do you really think that people would try to lynch political opponents over scum though? I think that most people are probably cognizant of the fact that the goal of the game is to lynch scum and not opposing candidates. Or at least, I wouldn't vote someone to be president if they were planning on murdering their political opponents just because they oppose them, as that doesn't help win the game. I think that people probably wouldn't run on that platform because it wouldn't get them elected.

Fighting dreamers - 52 - wait, why is invisibility townreading you a good reason to join your party? Do they have a good track record of reading you?

Mutant - 63 - I like the nonchalance of shrugging off the scumread

NK15 - 72 - I think that theoretically I like this idea. I think that implementing it practically is difficult, as people presumably joined the game in order to enjoy the gerrymandering/voting mechanics, and wouldn't want to use them to turn the game into a proxy for a regular mafia game. Also I think that town is a lot more likely to lol-deviate from the stated plan than scum because scum would be hyper-cognizant of doing something that makes them look sketchy when the 'sketchy' things are delineated so clearly, and town would just do whatever they want (and sometimes do it just to spite the rules).

I don't think that scum demands that everyone follows the rules that he laid like this; it's too confrontational imo given that I don't think most people would be interested in going along with it. Like he's just laying down what he expects to happen when it probably just won't so it exhibits a certain cluelessness of the gamestate that I feel like scumpartners would probably try to correct (or point out to him before he embarked on this plan)

mutant - 87 - lol that's like what I was thinking basically wrt to the restriction thing and the limitations of this plan. I don't know if mafia effectively always have a double vote - election results by district are posted and we ought to be able to piece together pools of players who committed voter fraud across multiple elections, which would enable us to try to figure out who tried to unduly influence the election. Also agree wrt discussion pre-hammer

Ruby - how are you proposing finding the scum you want to lynch day1? Like, who are they? What happens if you don't find them? I'm not sure

ausuksa - 99 - not sure if it's such a great idea to let one person decide the lynch; by placing my trust in the president like that, I'm trusting them to a) be town and b) have good reads c) have reads that align with my own. I'm liking the parties that support having discussion-based lynches.

mutant - I probably townread him the most of the candidates but I don't think that his party is particularly tenable; I don't think that he is going to be president, and I'd rather support someone I townread + I think can become president

nk15 - I townread but I disagree with the tenets of the party and like he's never becoming president on that campaign

anime hydra - I don't know if I particularly townread them but I like the tenets of their party, and like their strategies for sorting people and looking for scum, and like that they want input from others when making their decision.

rubyred - I think her opener + aggressive campaigning probably doesn't come from scum her but like ... she's running on a slogan basically. I'm not sure how she's going to fulfill her promise, or what happens if she fails to do so.

wheme's - A party who's fundemental tenet is shitposting is just meh and like I think we can do better.

Because, Mafia have complete control over the districts. This allows them to have an unusual amount of control over the town dayplay in the game. It makes sense for town to have something to counter that like a double vote. Then the rules pretty much explicitly confirm this is a thing by pointing out that the mafia have a roleblocker like ability to deal with town players that can abuse and manipulate district mechanics.

I plan on coming up with more detailed reads as things go on. I doubt I'll give a single name at the end of the day, more like a good pool of 2-3 people. I do want to be efficient, but I'm not in a huge rush because we still have a fair amount of time. I want to see more content from some people. I may try to discuss things with people as well. Right now I'd say there's about half the playerlist I really don't plan on lynching and the other half is up in the air.

Suppose I accept your premise that double voting is more beneficial for town in order to combat the gerrymandered districts

This doesn’t apply in hebi’s case because she didn’t double vote to thwart the scum-manipulated districts; she allegedly did it as a reaction test (which doesn’t explain why she voted two different people)

I still don’t understand why you townclear hebi by virtue of her double voting without taking into consideration the motivations behind her doing so

Town can make mistakes and fail to use their vote properly. Other people didn't vote, voted for a horrible president, etc and nobody seems to care about that. In this setup hebichan's role will be town 99% of the time and I don't think hebichan's play is as scummy as some people think

There was a reason that this was anonymous, there was a reason I didn't use my typical style of crier posting to post this; It's because we were protecting who it was coming from. Now you've let scum narrow down where the guilty could have come from. They explicitly stated they did not want to go public with this and, although you weren't strictly present, we agreed to give this information anonymously as a crier post. In my first post in the party PT I lay out some ground rules. Literally the first rule is that what is said in the PT stays in the PT unless agreed otherwise by the party members. This is probably the reason why they felt comfortable claiming in the first place as they probably had confidence we wouldn't tell others. You have broken this rule and I want you out of my party. Instead of consulting us about the issue of the crier post not being taken seriously you selfishly outed information you had no right to out. Had you not considered that we could have got reads off of people's reactions to the guilty? Had you not considered that if scum knew where this information originated then we'd know there is scum in my party like you so strongly believe? Had you not considered that Oath / firebringer has been fairly scummy throughout the game and hence it would not have been so hard to convince people the guilty is legit without giving away extra information? Obviously not.

Key difference: You wanted to enforce basically a vote.
Aronis wanted to act on their own.
And that is what bothers me, probably more than everything else said by Aronis.
Your motivation to be president was to try out normal voting, basically, because you didn't trust your reads nor did trust others. That is understandable from a town point of view.
However, Aronis motivation to be president was that they wanted to decide for themselves who was scum, and hopefully catch them, or so they said.
But if Aronis knows themselves and says that they cannot read people properly... how does this fit? Why should someone who thinks that their reads are bad rely on these reads so much that they want to be president and lynch based on their own reads? From a scum point of view, that's perfectly understandable:They want to lynch town; and they don't need to have good scumreads to advance their wincon because they are scum, and know who to lynch.
