Here's the thing: the order is completely alphabetized except for the bottom, I really doubt that's unintentional, so either there's some kind of benign mechanical purpose behind it or the mods are fucking with us. I don't think it's worth actually seriously discussing it beyond that and I didn't intend for the conversation over it to get this serious/memey by pointing it out.

regardless of alignment I have neither the mental energy nor the inclination to kiss up to the rest of the playerlist in the way that would be necessary for my slot to ever survive past the first few games if I don't get nightkilled. I'll duel scum on day 3/4 and go down with them.

oh I actually just personally checked the playerlist for the first time: yall are kind of silly for not understanding what happened.

the names at the end of the list start with non-capitalized letters but are in alphabetical order, so whatever ordering method the mods used puts capitals in front of lowercase.

there's zero significance to the ordering.

well the lower case names are likely to have fewer scum than the rest of the list
ergo my secret masonry theory was closer than everyone's scumteam theory

In post 444, Firebringer wrote:If i made a bad random duel, then yeah this is all on me.
Can something done randomly really be bad? Did you actually randomly choose Katsuki for that matter?

Not that either matters, after Cupcake's posting, I kind of almost wonder if you gambled and it actually paid off. Much rather have you around than Katsuki at this point.

---

Voting Neither does one thing for sure, and quite possibly a second thing here. First off, it turns the Duel into basically an informationless lynch, allowing everyone to wash their hands of it under the guise that we get two flips out of it. But be honest with yourselves, flipping both provides no information what so ever because it absolves players of having stances. Secondly, if Fire is town, gambled on a duel and actually hit pay-dirt, it allows scum to at least cut losses by taking a town player down with them. Now, I get that trading one for one scum and town is great in most situations, but why possibly give scum a freebie? Short of some ridiculous gambit where Katsuki told scum partner Fire to duel bus, there is literally no way both are scum, so if by chance Fire gambled correctly, tilted Katsuki in the process, and we get a win from that, why allow Scum to get the free kill out of it instead of force them to waste one or more shots killing Fire at night?

Pretty sure I unvoted a long while back, but votals say I'm still on Fire I think.

Just in case...

Unvote;
Vote: Firebringer

toog if only one person dies from this duel, do you not agree that we will spend the rest of the game arguing over whether or not to lynch the other one as well, until they're both dead?

because that's how i see this panning out, and i'm willing to flip fb day1 just to make sure he's not gambiting scum because if he's town, he's not powerful or he wouldn't do this. i'm willing to flip katsuki because i just think they're scum

it's not really an argument for 'negative utility' but the payoff if FB is scum is big, if he's town it doesn't really matter

I'd rather we take a stance on the flip. If Kat flips town, then FB is not off the table in any way, but if Kat flips scum, do you really think you'll be able to sell a FB scum read as well?

Look how many people just trained on with the Neither vote. It's basically a policy lynch since we'll get no information in regards to other players if we just decide to off both of them.

oh right you're trying to say that 'neither' is essentially the same as 'no preference' - but i don't think that's the case unless people just hop on without any kind of thought process behind it - which some people have done, but most have not

i still think you're very wrong on how much ppl will end up fixating on whichever slot lives if we keep one alive - and what if katsuki/fb flips town? what do we do with the other slot then? i feel like if we _don't_ do both, we're setting up day2 to be real shit

then again this whole game is likely to be real shit with the amount of mouthbreathers just chomping at the bit to make 'SICk DUeLZ Bro'

if both of them are town

the best possible thing we can do here is to deal with both of them right now

if one of them is scum

then maybe it's optimal to save the town but not really required, 1 for 1 is fine

or even worse we could save the town in the pair instead of the scum statistically 50% of the time which is no bueno at all

if they're both scum which I don't see as literally impossible, it massively behooves us to lynch them both today

the ends some people seem to be playing to are strange.
