Poisoner has no gun, Gunsmiths do, so if a gunsmith inspects a claimed gunsmith and finds no gun then they are caught lying.

But that could be true for anyone in the game. I mean, lying specifically, which is why I want to be sure I am checked by a gunsmith who is likely to be town. I feel the most confident in Purr/Kokichi being town based on their gunsmith claims.
