Captain's Log: Entry 9
Image

I appear to have gained a much bigger budget when making my Diaries. I have also appeared to have survived the first Night phase relatively in tact, despite the fact certain people acquire for my death.

The same can't be side for - Wait, nobody died?!

HOLY MOLY IT'S A MIRACLE.

My actions last night appear to have kept anyone - Including myself - from dying horrifically.

The computer system A50 appeared to have laughed at the fact I nearly pissed my pants in fear of death last night. Jokes on him!

Scouting for more information now. It's my duty as Captain to protect the crew.

I will now try to be sure my cremated still dont want to murder me.

- Elsa Jay, Captain.

by the way, this is something small that i hadn't noticed before from tpfkap's flip but i think it's actually probably important

i know that fakegod usually only does 3 scum in a 17 player game, but i think the typical expectation is 4. with one of those scum being a traitor already i have to wonder at the possibility of multiball or some kind of serial killer (the implications of which are so obvious that it goes without saying).

Elsa, target.

Also a reminder that the wagon yesterday should be analyzed as though it were a town lynch, because scum did not know they were lynching one of their own(though technically until we know that they did not know they had a traitor, which is not made clear by TPFKAP's flip, it's possible they caught on that they were scum...they didn't say anything that appeared to be a traitor scum, but they did spend the first part of the day ONLY saying the word scum about people).

Speaking of which, we know now that the Alliance was 2 groupscum+traitor, so it's safe to say that The Operative is acting as a separate scum entity(likely alone), and the reavers are also likely their own scum entity(again, likely alone).

Game looks like 2+1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 12, from a purely speculative/flavor standpoint.

Combination of scum being told their flavor and there being a two person Hands of blue scumteam. I just linked to the one, but I could go dig up the other if you really want it.

i'd actually say it's highly likely that scum was both looking for their traitor and that TPFKAP could have been identified as such, for reasons you state here.
but considering TPFKAP's iso, i don't know how much that knowledge would have deterred scum from bussing, anyway.

pedit: you crumbed traitor?

I think 3 options happened with the Blue Hand group or whatever.

1: They attacked Cheeky, who I was on last night.

2: They were asshats and took away my BP.

3: a roleblocker roleblocked the killer.

Just a bit of Setup Spec.

I'd really be surprised if Town is more than 9 players.
Serenity Crew: Mal, Zoe, Wash, Jayne, Kaylee
Serenity Passengers: Book, Inara, Simon, River

One team of Mafia with 2 members and a Traitor is too small, so I think we are looking at at least two teams with the other team being Reavers. A team of 3 or 4 Reavers, the Hands of Blue + Traitor is 6 or 7 total Mafia. A Survivor doesn't really make much sense in both the setup or the lore, but we can visit that later. However, a Cereal Eater does in The Operative, and since the game is designed to be very unswingy due to the limited mechanics, I can totally see multiple killing actions at night.

Flavorwise, there are a ton of characters that make sense as 3p. There's almost assuredly at least 9 town (Unless Simon/River is a 3rd party survivor and Unlyncher pair) but almost certainly no more than 11. 9 is the far more likely number in that scenario. That makes sense with Multiball, but the other faction is almost assuredly not Alliance based, given that HoB is Blue Sun Corporation and Dobson was definitely Alliance. So maybe Reavers? Possibly Niska's crew? Not sure that that's useful.

Jayne being not a vig would be a travesty of the highest order.

Spoiler: Flavor spoiler that's a big deal with the movie
It's worth noting that the Operative is actually friendly to the crew of Serenity at the end of the movie, and in the follow up comic Leaves on the Wind

The game flavor is only based on the series and the movie, and The Operative is pretty much the epitome of a Serial Killer since he kills both those loyal to the Serenity Crew and the Alliance (and Reavers). Mal and the Operative are "friendly" in the simplest form of the word considering Mal threatens to kill the Operative if they meet again.
