That wasn't the point it was moreso about you getting ahead of the play so to speak. On the other hand I've been townleaning overkill pretty hard and that wasn't pressed so I'm less certain that is the case but I'm keeping your play in mind.
@RCE - much obliged for link. Will read the whole thing later but skimmed early D2 stuff. IME crumbing cop never works as intended. It's either too subtle to do any good or so blatant you get NK'd.
I agree in principle with what you're saying but I'm not sure a good lylo player is less valuable than a cop check. An innocent cop check doesn't necessarily help a lot.

OK now I see what you were doing. I was referring to an actual cop crumbing. My first MS game as cop I dropped at least 3 crumbs (including the "first three letters" technique); I was whacked N1 and was sure it was because I was too obvious, but scum said postgame they didn't notice and neither did town. I've also seen scum countercrumbing work to get a town cop lynched.
Q: Were you really scumreading snowbeast off that one post, or just reaction testing?

Fair. Nice anti pocket. I don’t know if that’s a thing or what it means, but nice trying it!!!
Nothing else to go on really, so I brought up a pocket comment.
Maybe it's just you functioning in your capacity as IC, eager to teach us—but explaining a certain principle of the game and suggesting it has occurred, then later admitting it was just a conversation starter, seems like the sort of thing mafia would do, at least later on in the game.
In post 73, Roo wrote:I guess I'm just slightly more skeptical of Flavor Leaf. I agree with his townread of YellowSnow because of post 48, but just voicing that he has a townread on YellowSnow doesn't equate to me having a townread of Leaf. It certainly is possible that this is two people town locking each other early on, but just recognizing town behavior doesn't automatically mean that player is town as well.
Two town persons who read eachother as town seem to me to be a very strong tool. Having someone who you can mutually trust would allow the discussion of reads be so much more fruitful, since you don't have to worry about the possibility of their being scum tainting their reads—you know the other is genuine. That doesn't seem like a small benefit, and will be more useful in the midgame.

At this point in the game it's foolhardy to trust anyone, or to pretend you know anything with certainty. At best you can have a gut townread, which both FL and Roo seem to have on Yellow, but Roo doesn't have on FL. The pocketing strategy discussed above is just one example of how scum can be erroneously townread.
If I did a teaching moment and said I used that as a conversation starter, I apologize. I think that’s just me moreso than as an IC. I have a tendency to do that with terms I use in regular games.
Fair point that it can be seen as a scum move, I guess.
I’ll try to differentiate more when I’m talking as an IC.
