If I'd had a guilty on persivul I probably would have just claimed it.

and/or tunneled more strongly, maybe. I actually considered fakeclaiming even-night or novice cop or something like that but didn't think I had enough clout to do so safely and get away with un-claiming it if I'm not shot/without a real flavor justification. And a50 came up innocent so it wasn't as appealing of an idea anyway.

I've no objection to massclaim.

i don't think it's a good idea to make judgements about Percy's alignment based on setup spec when we don't have all of the information. the point about picking off members of the hood as scum, i do get. and i understand why Percy is scumreading Fish.

@Almost: not sure how Fish is mechanically confirmed town. i know you said it would be too swingy if he could motivate his partners permanently: we have no proof his motivate is permanent, just his word.

if we did massclaim. those who have already claimed should just confirm that their claim is complete at their turn.

the reason is because if we hit scum today, great. then we could massclaim tomorrow. if we mislynch today, now it's LyLo and any important claims that crop up are not credible at all.

i also strongly believe that fish's role is +town utility. i don't think it mechanically confirms him but after seeing it and playing 20 questions with the mod i had a really really similar reaction as a50; my role benefits from getting motivated so i kinda thought it was in the game to either help me out or to inadvertantly help scum; i think it's too powerful as a groupscum role (i could see it maybe working as a traitor who didn't know their partners were or something)

I want to look really closely at elbirn mostly right now as concerns chara's list. I think there's a good chance it's right but elbirn is the one I feel significantly worse about than the others right now.

@skitter: DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS. Just think about it:
IF you had multiple gifts, BEF could have motivated you earlier to give more than one gift to multiple players on N1/N2. If you only had a 1-shot Cop and that's it, then it worked out fine and it is OBVIOUS that BEF was meant to target ME all along.

Anyway, I'm fine with BEF motivating you, me, Varsoon or implosion (Chara is ASCETIC). Something about Elbrin's claim to have received "something" isn't boding well with me, and I hard SR both Persy and mcqueen now, so I think we've nailed the scum team already and it doesn't matter who gets shot tonight as long as the rest work together.

I have no idea why you asked me question 2 above if you're asking me this, because you should have known the answer. I literally assumed you weren't the person who gave me the shot because you asked me that question. If you are and things are gonna be this way, let's just be nice and unambiguous.

I received, and used, a cop shot.

I was trying to soft an investigative role, but you've kind of ruined the ability to do that now.

I have an innocent result on a50, which I thought would be obvious to whoever gave me the cop shot by the fact that he was suddenly at the top of my reads list despite me constantly calling him null earlier.

If you received a single shot, what's with the soft claim? Why not just put out the result immediately?

i don't really see it. i think one of the easier tasks as scum is figuring out how town-you would respond to a gifted cop shot and then just executing that.
i'd want to see more of implosion's current reads in light of everything.

Guys, I said I do NOT want to claim my 3 shots (3 x 1-shot abilities) today. I certainly do have a reason for that. I'll do that tomorrow. For now, my claim is I had 3 different 1-shot abilities to use and I could only use one per night.

@skitter: I think implosion is correct. Persivul looks like the scum in the hood now. Here's why:

1- Someone did pick on the Lovers thing and got 2 kills for the price of 1 on N1.
2- Percy is persistent on lynching a TPR (BEF) and ignoring all arguments that he is

mechanically confirmed

1. No, he's not mechanically confirmed of anything.
2. If I'm scum and Fish is town, killing fish would make me top suspect tomorrow. If this were mylo/lylo, I could understand your suspicion, but it isn't. Hood scum's motivation now that it's down to two is to take the focus off the hood, and that's exactly what Fish is trying to do.

3- (and this is the last nail in the coffin) I don't believe Persy would check me on N1 and mcqueen on N2 when he's all gang ho about BEF's lynch. What Cop wouldn't try to check his main suspect who had claimed a TPR and is being defended by half the Town, yet still practically tunnel them?

1. Investigations are primarily for hard nulls and lurkers. Unfortunately you're correct that it's site meta to use them on people who are overtly scummy. I don't subscribe to that. Those people can be pushed without a guilty.

2. Maybe you don't recall, but D1 I was defending Fish. Yesterday I voted him but that was partially OMGUS. It's his behavior so far today that has me gung ho on him. There's no reason beside him being scum for him to change his mind about scum in the hood, now that we're down to two known from the hood. Look at his excuse for the change - "lynching from the hood as been a town massacre." What does that mean - we've only lynched one person from the hood.

i disagree, all three scum are still alive. it's not the biggest loss for them if the hood scum is the one that goes down.

like i said, unless Elbirn/Almost/skitter/me has scum in it, lynching outside the hood is a better idea.
