I am a rookie cop. I select my investigative target. The town fake cop - who thinks they are just a cop - gets my result instead of theirs.

I investigated Vedith, which is why my first post of the day had “reread” next to @Vedith.

If Teacher is telling the truth then the actual cop should have 2 clears, if the name didn't appear and it is just has a result of town, I suspect this message would have been sent twice.

The fake cop doesn’t know I exist. They think they are just a town cop. They think they submit an investigation target and get a result.

I on the other hand know the fake cop exists. I know I submit an investigation target, and the fake cop gets my result instead of theirs.

I thought 0verki11 was the “fake” cop from the early claim. I thought it would investigate lich. This when it reported lich was town, I immediately followed up and posted my Vedith town read.

What don’t you get?

Interesting. So the "fake" Cop will always get an "Innocent" result because they actually get the results of the "rookie" Cop. But what happens if YOU die before they do?

The way I understand it is this:

X is a Cop who does NOT get their own results
teacher is a rookie Cop (always gets innocent regardless of the true alignment of their target).
teachers results are delivered to the "fake" Cop, so X always gets a clear.
If the fake Cop dies teacher receives his own results.

The questions I have are:

1- When/if teacher gets "promoted" does he become a sane/normal Cop or will he still be a rookie?
2- If teacher dies, does the fake Cop become a real Cop or not?

The answers to 1 & 2 should decide our course of action. If teacher becomes a sane Cop then the fake Cop should claim and eat rope. If when teacher dies X becomes a real Cop then teacher should eat rope. I think this is the most bastard element of the game. Someone has to sacrifice themselves willingly for the greater good of the town.
