The only way for the Judas ability to activate is if the player would be lynched. I would post that the lynch failed, but not why and then the game would go to the Night Phase.

Right in the wiki, it has

-In Greater Idea Mafia, the Judas converts only on lynch. If nightkilled, it dies normally.
