Didn’t think of that but in Overkill 2, town!Creature opened with a crumb of his role and he wound up flipping town. I still think that claim is more likely to come from town than scum.

I'm not sure how that's supposed to connect to this game. What makes it more likely town than scum?

@Reasonably Clever, is there any chance you could look ahead just a few posts before quoting things to respond to them? Some of your questions get answered fairly quickly and it'd be nice to have a game that isn't prohibitively long to read as seems to happen to a lot of large theme games. I would appreciate it.

Isn't this a little bit unfair to Sky? Her first post was the main one about the miller and her only other one I think was just responding to other people. It's hard to describe, but given the timing of Sky's posts I guess I don't really feel like this is all that fair of an accusation.

I'm a little surprised to see you call Papyrus' opening "fluffy". Papyrus has seemed all-business to me.

Oh, and a little random of a question, but how are you going to read a hydra if you're going to ignore individual heads? Seems like something of a forest for the trees situation. Any read based off of multiple people is really just a collection of your read on individuals, isn't it? Seems a little strange to me to just ignore one person.

Mentions being concerned about fairness to a slot she isn’t townreading. All of this shows a townie motivation to connect to the game and evaluate fairly.

when was the last time you've seen scum insta fakeclaim miller? the only times i've ever seen D1 miller claims were from town

I'm fairly confident on this point so I'd like to direct it to everyone – not just Skygazer – and hear disagreement directly if someone does rather than having someone silently continue on with what I believe are false assumptions.

Scum were given fakeclaims in this setup. It is conceivable that scum were given Miller as a fakeclaim. Thus, I'm of the opinion that there is no conclusive statement one could make regarding RWBY's claim as it relates to their alignment

On a more speculative level I would have to wonder—if the role were a scum fakeclaim—what would be done given the mercy meter being at a level where they would no longer be a miller. But, there are any number of answers to that question (which I don't particularly care to know at the moment).

In post #306, she engages the thread and speculates on the connection of fakeclaims to the mercy mechanic (which I am still somewhat confused on). I think scum would be less likely to speculate on fakeclaims wrt to mechanics, because it might conceivably hurt them later. I know in my Heroes scumgame, I tried my best to doge any questions that might out me, so again, this line of thinking reads townie to me.

can both of you explain why Papyrus' read on Sofa King is so scummy?

It was not great, but it was a combination of little things that lead to me voting them.Also a reaction test. Questions probably would have been better, but I've been a bit busy. And now I need to sleep.

I don't know what "angle shooty" means, Krazy. I've used replacement behaviors in the past to catch scum or identify town & I'm not about to abandon them just because a player can't respond. It's like when a townie replaces into a slot that everyone previously found scummy -- just because the player can't respond to past behaviors doesn't mean you stop pushing the slot, nor does it mean the player can't town the slot up despite past issues.

There's also another aspect to my push on Roster -- he's going to lurk if we don't force him to post. I think Roster's a fairly easy read who occasionally has moments of brilliant insight so it'd be nice if we could get him involved in the game.

I think Nancy's obvtown when she's town & null when scum. I'm getting nothing so far and that has me worried. I also imagine she's going to blow up at me for saying this when she enters the thread so maybe I shouldn't be provoking her, I dunno.

There is a major difference between scum reading a slot due to their previous holder, and what you are doing, its dumb to drop you read because of a replacement, but does that mean you should be asking them questions like, why did he do this, or why did he do that? And then on an even more OGi level, you are attacking why he replaced out? That's a yikes from me, I guess you can be town in some world, but I don't buy that, that is a natural thought process
