If there is action already going on, I'll hold. If the game state is flatlined, I'llpost it. Just my own style though.

Personally, I started with a paranoiac state style where I wanted every post to be 100% perfect, to be townread. This can lead people to think you're scum that walks on eggshells...
Now I go with what I think, no holds. It makes me more authentic, but many people find that I'm scummy even when playing town. Eh. Since I'm authentic, it's much easier to play this way though.
Find your own style and be comfortable with it. Good players will still be able to read you.

Gonna shift here bc I don't see us getting anything more out of the Sashwagon.

There are times when it is in town's favor to be forthright, and times when it's less helpful. Different communities have different preferences but tbh think of it this way:
What does town gain from your silence? What does town lose from your silence?
What does scum gain from your silence? What does scum lose?

There are occasions when I would much rather someone breadcrumb information, or stay tacit on an issue until they feel it absolutely necessary to weigh in, than potentially give the opposing faction something to exploit.

To use it in a sentence, I might say: "ASC dipped when people started questioning his reaction to the L-1 wagon".

I’ve been active all day, it would probably be fair to say that most of today’s posts haven’t made a lot of contribution. I appreciate everyone answering my questions, though.

I think Schiavetto's point is that you answered TTTT's question and then left for 5 hours. He thinks you should have stayed around and made another post to contribute beyond that. I kind of agree. Just being reactive makes it harder to read you, for me at least, and can slow the game down.

In post 54, Arithmancer wrote:I've played forum mafia before this, but it honestly wasn't that good of a primer for this site - it was a lot more casual (in skill and tone).

I probably don't talk as much as I should, regardless of role. I'm the self-conscious type, so I'm a bit too worried about saying something dumb and not realizing it, especially with my lack of good experience. Hoping to use this game to improve in a serious format.

When it comes to the real game, I am a little bit freaked out by going to L-1 based on (as far as I can tell) very little, even for the sake of pressure. It seems like enabling an unnecessarily volatile situation. Not to say that someone would randomly hammer, but it doesn't make much sense to create the possibility in my opinion.
Yes and no. I'm not a fan of the worry he expresses about how his posts appear, but I don't have a problem with the L-1 part.

if pressed, a bit scummy tbh. he seems really on board with my towniness, which is nice i guess, but saying it enough starts to rub the wrong way. especially since he seems to be the only one being vocal about it right now.

he is trying to direct the action a bit, it helps to progress the game, but it seems like hes the one driving

he seems sort of eager to finish the first day, whether that means hes scum or has a night action, i have no idea there. probably he just wants to see the game progress.

honestly sort of a town lean though, he seems accusatory enough of basically everyone, not trying to hide at all. he also came in guns blazing saying to lynch sasha straight away. i know he was joking but still, just doesnt seem like someone trying to blend in with the crowd
