is it really typical for town players in theme games to fakeclaim for no reason and give away info? and then you're supposed to just believe them and let them live? if it is i guess i won't make the mistake of playing one of these again.

I think the way it is said is something done more typically by scum than town, so yes. It's a mindset that is different than town trying to understand a persons reasoning and using an easy get out jail free card of not having to do the hard work of understanding a players motivations for doing things.

Its exceptionally easy post to make and I don't think most bat an eye to it.
