You're simultaneously a good target for Miller and worthy of a lynch right now actually. If I couldn't read you by day 5 or so without leaning on investigative roles I would feel bad. If the town collectively can't they should probably feel bad (that is a harsh way to put it mafia is hard but I'm communicating the idea that relative to the rest of the playerlist dayplay should be a sufficient and adequate means to read AP)

If cfj PMed me that I'm spontaneously dead in Role Call I, showed me A50's red role pm, then told me he'd let me fire a Publishing Cop shot from the grave N2 as an apology for killing me, I'm not even sure it'd be correct to fire it at Austin Powers because of the opportunity cost of firing it at an illegible slot.

Making an entire post to prove that a specific 3 person team is impossible doesn't have the minimum byte-value ratio needed to constitute a post.

Preflip pairwise assocs are something I try not to focus on in my playstyle because I feel like they have to be a particularly hot take to be worth the bytes, but they are exactly 11 times more useful than the trios. So stick with those, at least, if you want to do homework.

1981 and 1979 are good posts, I think something on the previous page was a good post too. I'm annoyed. This game needs to move forward a phase. If the 12 days are used it will surely collapse, maybe not literally get abandoned but town win% will plummet.

I am going to VOTE: CheekyTeeky and ask if the unofficial votecount can be used by other players as well to gauge whether we can upgrade the lynch without slowing down the game too hellaciously.

How certain are you Dunn is town rn?

He's d5 IC he should be treated as town.
But beyond that he's very very likely town because day 1 seemed to have heavy influence on scum proposals, so if Dunn was scum the 3 missing votes on "5 day poison Nero Cain" would have easily sunk a proposal that could lack enthusiasm for other reasons as well

Chronomancer should go to Gamma Emerald btw. It's weak roleblocker that only works on investigations, so it's a scumsided role.
Making one of the investigators and the chronomancer be the same thing means there is one less possible way the Bad Thing can be used. Even if the mod lets him chronomance himself it doesn't let him do anything he couldn't do by lying for a day.

I guess you could argue that X is a better townread than gamma and psychologist is powerful and it's worth it to overlook that role interaction, but the

mechanical

choice for chronomancer is definitely Gamma.

What happened to using a key for the two different anime characters you two are roleplaying?

The 3 hour minimum on revisor means that town can coordinate around it in a LyLo situation. You would have to troll with it before LyLo and put yourself at serious risk for getting vengelynched over it to get some use out of it. I think it will be mostly weak.

On a reread it cannot affect King due to the 3 hour minimum. The king's proposal is voted on for 0 hours.

In 5p LyLo I think your concern is kinda valid, in the more likely 3p LyLo it doesn't matter whether people "agree" who "the town" is. In the cases where the two townies agree they should vote the scum together, they can wait until each of them logs in at the same time and hammer it together, even if that scum is a revisor. In cases where two townies do not agree they should vote the scum together, we lose 100% of those games anyway, scum do not selfvote.

But yeah I don't see much harm in Revisor going to Cheeky.

Creature, if he truly has a town role pm, will usually townspew by midgame, in theory, some people contested that. So it's a high value NK due to how townread the slot will be.

Mechanically it moves the miller onto you which is beneficial if you are scum.

So the thing I was looking at, is, how good are the next 3 inventions, really. And they are preeetty meh. Best one left is bodyguard, but it's one shot bodyguard, it's so hard to even connect with it.
There's this mechanical strategy we can go for of stacking active roles on as small a group of players as possible, to make the motion detector roles and tracker roles as powerful as possible. If the pool of players who has no business being out after curfew is smaller it is easier to use tracker and motion detector to get a soft or hard guilty.

Chronomancer: Apthet achieves this. But also since Apthet seems like a pretty high priority NK it tosses the troubling Chronomancer role into the graveyard faster. Someone pointed out N2 BP doesn't save a townread forever, just for 1 night, so I should stop being averse to letting apthet having thin skin N2.

But then... I can't actually figure out a place to put the N2 BP that's any better. Hrm. Once you think to yourself "this person is infact going to die -eventually-" it just seems equally useless on everyone.

The tracker would be told that Cheeky did not visit anyone. Rolestopping makes the action not even happen. If you hit scum you're putting the ball in their court on what play to make. They can say "Yeah I got the message, she's IC" and just shoot you later, or they can do something better than that, up to them. If you hit a townie they say "I got the message she's IC" every single time. I guess the vast majority of the time the scum will just say you're IC.

If you aim it at a scummy player I guess they are unlikely to get NKed so there's that.

A scummy player who is likely to get scum-aligned is very likely to be rolestopped though, so there's that.
I guess that's a check in and of itself, it's suspicious for any player to be a rolestop target on a Tracker/psychologist night.

God this setup is complicated.

Cheeky it is part of the setup that scum is guaranteed to have a factional rolestop. It's in the rules for the setup.

It's a rolestop, not a roleblock, whether the action is prevented depends on the target, rather than the user. So it's important that you use your friendly neighbor unpredictably.

That's a good flavor construction but for the record it's about pretty likely the original creation of the mafia term is based on Troll Ascetic. Troll Ascetic was an above average magic card with an ability that says "can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control". He posited CheekyTeeky D5 IC frequently early in the game, and the justification he gave for it doesn't really seem to generate towncred and seems pretty authentic. Giving a teammate D5 IC is a Bad Thing. Some of LUV's mechanical comments this game have been so offbase that I almost want to consider it bad!scum!LilUziVert but I think he'd manage to figure out that this cops his scumpartner on day 5. It seems really plausible that people might just say "hey yeah CheekyTeeky's meta fits D5 IC plenty" and that everyone slots her in that way in all the proposals for the rest of the game and it'd be a really strange move before the rest of the game developed.

Then his only proposal actually lynches CT. At this point in the game state it seems really possible to continue pushing for Titus, or to lynch someone else entirely, and this proposal seemed to have a very real chance of passing.

It seems very unlikely these 2 can be paired and there's a lot of benefit to "pigeonholing" their lynch pending Friendly Neighbor results. There are 2 other mafia we can go for, even if LUV is, say, double rand odds of being scum. scum!LUV doesn't do anything with the additional night, the conversation would maybe be different if he was an inventor or something, but he's not, it's optimal to resequence lynches here.

Her avatar has the colors blue, orange, and kinda yellow in it. There is a special species of lizard that engages in a rock paper scissors mating strategy, and the males are subcategorized into blue, orange, and yellow, based on what strategy they prefer. Strategy A is to build a huge harem of females and pass DNA through all of them but also spread your resources thin looking after all of them. It loses to strategy B, sneak into the territory of someone with too many females and adulterize one of them, then make him look after her and the young thinking it's his, then quickly move onto the next harem to infiltrate. This loses to strategy C, pick one female that looks very healthy and focus only on her and watch her at all times, females with that type of lizard won't accept adultery even if approached. Strategy C loses to strategy A because you could pass your DNA down many more times with a harem.

All the males are uniquely matched to one of those colors, the decision is genetic, one of the strategies genes will just start prevailing more when one strategy is getting better. As far as I know the females can pair with a male using any of the strategies. Since apthet's avatar has all 3 colors in it, therefore, it must be female if you imagine it has some relationship to this fascinating species of lizard.

Yeah that's still my stance on LUV. I've seen a couple posts that seem like townLUV and a couple posts that seem like scumLUV this game but I really want to break this game with mechanics even if the scum are outplaying us and one of the ways to do that is to get 2 reads out of the Friendly Neighbor instead of 1.

I agree with Bingle (or was it Dunnstral) about there being a limited-scope defense here for momo. Really the things that would help me best re-evaluate the slot is if he became as active as he was d1 but it doesn't really look like that's going to happen.

I apologize in advance for referencing momo's ban, the intent is not to smear him, I just play mafia to win and try to think transparently as town so I post almost everything I think as town ("almost" having a 1:1 correspondence with content I cannot reference due to the ongoing games rule). Scholarship Student Isis has an evolution, but it is one of the rare flipflop evolutions where you evolve again to return to the original form, so it's not necessarily a forward progression.

Her evolution has a different ability that increases the healing statistic instead of the HP statistic, which is an even break to a newbie or a player unfamiliar with playing lots of actual games of PAD, but is obviously bad with experienced players' general evaulation that HP is a more valuable statistic than attack.

The evolution's name is still Scholarship Student Isis.

Scum are multi-acting, so if they surely assigned the same person to do the kill to also rolestop. It's a 1/3rd clear not a 2/3rds clear, + even less than that if I am scum with Gamma Emerald or apthet (who would triple multiact and have fully explained motion).

I'm starting to think a strategy with an X% of sane copping my slot my be worth it. It's kind of more like burning 1 role than 2 because the psychologist is so weak. The tracker could and psych could each agree to like, a 30% chance of investigating me? Some amount of chance of cooperating that makes it difficult to decide whether to rolestop onto me. This game is slowly getting sorted and ICing a slot with no power could actually be really powerful.

There's a beneficial side affect to focusing night behavior towards my slot, Teeky becomes less likely to get roleblocked, and I doubt she was interested in visiting me tonight anyway because she kinda hates me.

apthet invented onto CheekyTeeky last night, so CheekyTeeky now has one shot friendly neighbor (unless CheekyTeeky performed the kill and rolestopped herself)
CheekyTeeky fires the friendly neighbor shot tonight and we will find out whether she is scum the next day, with a low% chance of this not working quite right.

I feel like I'm probably not going to get the other lynch I want today. People are planning to give me a weak-ass power role tonight and I am widely townread so I think I'm going to leave the scum guessing on what my LUV alternatives actually are so they don't know whether to let me go on living with bad reads or not.

I posted it in the neighbor PT just now though, it feels like a fun way to get value out of my role. That leaves me accountable for doing implausible 180s on my read and also preserves the sheepability of the reads which are the two main drawbacks to "hide your reads to degrade NK quality"

If people stop their excitement for LUV lynch I will bring a case for who is the highest quality lynch into the open.

pk and I have been discussing our reads more in depth in the neighborhood so if we both get investigative roles it might not be optimal to add an {additional} potential scum to the neighborhood. The alternative would be to neighborize Dunnstral or to

2 person neighborhood seems outright stronger than 3 person neighborhood. The gossip is only powerful if it's actually being hidden from scum. I don't really feel like the neighborhood actually helps me sort pisskop and if you added apthet I don't think it would do that much to help me sort her.
There's a special reason the neighborhood "helped me" "read" unwnd in Starry Night

There's a risk we don't continue to get offered neighbor roles and that after an NK the neighborhood dwindles to 1 person which is not a neighborhood, but it's a weak power overall so I think it's better to optimize it and risk breaking rather than focus on preserving it.

The reason I wanted to add apthet to the neighborhood is because I tr both you and pk and if apthet is town there's a decent chance of her being nk'd.

My thought is she puts her night action choice into the neighborhood as close as possible to night end and you guys can confirm which invention went where in case she dies, meaning scum can't just hide that they got hero and potentially fuck us or bodyguard and remove all utility from the role.

If we keep getting neighbors, I think giving neighbor to bg is probably a good choice, overall, so they can do the same thing.

I'm also really not concerned with scum listening in on the neighborhood tbh. Like, as just neighbors, your information/conclusions should probably just be shared in the main thread. If we give powerroles to the neighborhood, (and vice versa) they can choose not to share target over night if they think the neighborhood is compromised or even better share target right before daystart.

I'm actually pretty interested in why you are worried about someone joining the neighborhood in the first place, and am going to insist we don't have the neighborhood double up today, because there's potentially a hilarious town coup to be had here if you and pisskop are scum together and the neighborhood would out that. It'd even make up for how garbagey my reads are if that's the case.

Ok fine. I would prefer the mafia shoot pisskop so I could be more sure there is no scums in the neighborhood though. pls mafia.

Also you kind of more or less agreed with my concept, then designed a way to angleshoot around it with claiming near the deadline :S
