Well, like, everyone thinks being scum is all about coming across as townie, but it’s more about being able to survive the gamestate while simultaneously pushing a scum agenda. I’ve won scum games by playing downright aggressively scummy and wild and chaotic, and I targeted specific people to get them to be put into a hard 2v2 or 1v1 forcing the rest of the game to respond to it.

So on an inverse of this, if you can be semi self aware enough to realize “hey, scum don’t have attacking abilities, but nobody knows that, so I’m gonna act like it is and push my conf town until someone calls me out.” Then owning up to it got you as conf town then you lose your conf town status, thus making you actually townier than you were when you were fake conf town, but without the label, ANDit protects you from the “why wasn’t he night killed then”, which isn’t even a giant issue because there’s an actual conf town alive.
