If no player offers him a bargain with
bargain:fruit
he loses the opportunity to secretly distribute the fruit at night instead. He kinda seems to regret not saying "if not enough people offer me" fruit instead and he and Jingle have been cagey in future interactions, but if it was 2+ Jingle would have had to correct, and he said it, so it only takes 1 bargain.
We don't know whether Pine can nullify it by saying "if you climb mount everest and show me pix" or reach some other level of ridiculous in the deal.
Pine can stockpile up to 2 Fruit and has admitted some fruit is town-utility-only. He will have to give it out just so that new fruit starts coming in, kind of like an unwanted tetris piece, the way I understand it.
The way he has mentioned a fruit "not being ripe yet" and some of his other comments has implied that he stores his two fruits in a storage area as he accrues them and can offer them in any order he wants. I suspect it's not mandatory for him to give them out but it's to his advantage to do so to keep his fruit income going. Fruit WIFOM + strong chance they have white lie negative passives + actually giving fruit to scum some percent of the time + being on the team that can delete a player holding a beneficial fruit from the game when that's necessary.
All fruits given thus far are 1-shots that last 1 night the immediate following night and the delay of clarifications of such suggests that possibly all the fruits are like that.
There seems to be little preventing Pine from giving fruit to scum besides WIFOM. Leashing one person to bargain according to Ali's preference would work but people are just bargaining anyway and it's anti-town-not-scummy, sadly.
Fruit does not inherently grant multitasking and slots in this game are only multitasking if it says so in their role PM, I spec at least 1 scum role but there's a good chance they all just have it.
