Alright so looking through Saladman's meta, so far it does seem pretty consistent with town!Salad. I think my vote is better placed here honestly.

VOTE: Dongempire

Really did not like their case against teacher. teacher wasn't responding to the fact that he was at L-1, he was responding to Spartan when he seemed to imply that he was okay with hammering on page 2 and I think teacher's response is fine because of that. Not necessarily saying it's townie, but it's definitely not scummy.

Yup, you just compounded my argument further.
You are a very relaxed player yet you clearly panicked there.

Can you elaborate more on this?
Sure can.

At that point i thought town!you would be more concerned with trying to persuade spartan out of l-1ing teacher. Your posts seem more like you're trying to seem reasonable without taking any action, what with asking spartan if he wants a lynch. On surface level it seems like a natural enough question but definitely not the question to be asking at page 2. I think a town response would be more in line with "the fuck?"

So, for this whole Teacher at L-1 thing, I understand that it's everyone's reaction to panic. No one wants to be put in that position, especially this early in the game (day 1) and on page 2, and in a newbie game. I am along the lines of Teacher being town at the moment.

Any actual thoughts on what people have said?
I've been following this thread for the past few days but i'm not quite sure what to gather from anything.

Spartman seems the strangest since he hammered you and almost got you lynched.

VOTE: Spartan117
He says he has been following along but gave a pretty weak answer to teacher's question.

I'd probably lynch Salad. Didn't like his quick unvote after voting Spartan and his vote on Spartan seemed very opportunistic to begin with.
Actually, I think Spartan's actions were more of a "to get the ball rolling" move. Voting Saladman up to L-2 seems like good pressure to get a role read, like he said he wanted.

UNVOTE: Spartan117

He goes and does almost the exact same thing that he voted Spartan for. "To get the ball rolling"

From my point of view and my understandings from this game, (disclaimer, this is my first time playing a game of Mafia that lasts DAYS, so gathering info can be pretty hard due to long discussions) I can see that everyone has some kind of logic behind their posts.

IMO, just so I can try and lift a little off my "suspicious" silence and "suspicious" cute name, I will share my thoughts:

Saladman started strong initiating the RVS and voting against teacher, but that's RVS and he voted teacher probably due to previous encounter in a different game, that's how it looks to me. (ofc, I needed more info which was later revealed, I couldn't assume this based on Salad's first post, so thank you for getting more in-depth with your discussion).

Short about Salad: I believe he had a pretty straight and logical play there, showing that they know each other, so they do have some kind of experience reading each other, therefore I UNVOTE: Salad

Dong for some reason seems like he did encounter these two (Salad and teacher) in a previous game, however, there was a sudden shift in your opinion over his calmness and teacher highlighted these himself (post #56 and #102 are contradictory, but posts are in between, moods change with the discussion's flow).

In between there were a couple of other peeps that showed up and these are Aaron, George, Yoda and Spartan, but weren't as influencing to me as the 3 peeps mentioned earlier.

Spartan did have some kind of logic, but it's clear that he hasn't encountered all or even any of you in previous games.

Merfin did pushed me to post since "There is that chiibi person.", however, too little information on me, especially due to lack of participation in the conversation by my side, although I appreciate not putting a vote on me, so I'll call it a soft pat on the back to speak my thoughts.
It looks like he's interested in information and I totally agree, Day 1 is pretty much just chatting on different game subject or general logic just to have grasp of the peeps you're surrounded in-game.

With all said and done, I will currently VOTE: Spartan only because of #38 where he "has no issue with hammering anyone here provided he thinks they are scum."

Sorry for the long post, busy schedule so whenever I make time to post, I try my best to add all info I gathered and present my logic.

Wouldn't town want to get out if L-1 as quickly as possible too though for fear of being mislynched? I think panicking when you're at L-1 and about to be hammered on page 2 of a game is a pretty natural reaction regardless of alignment. I'd be much more concerned about teacher's reaction if it was later in the game.

Here's a nice little contradiction looking through George's ISO. He says that it's perfectly reasonable for teacher to panic when he's put at L-1 but then says that there's no reason for him to be afraid of being hammered on D1.

Which is it?

Taking the questions in order:
Yoda is a townlean mostly by PoE. Meaning I like him better than the two other low-post slots (Merfin or Chibiie) and generally try to limit myself to two w/i rand. I feel like the other two were doing a bit more of an active lurk. Merfin came close to being replaced (which is statistically scummy), avoided my questions, and the push on spartan didn’t feel real. Chibi has been playing the newby card a bit much and didn’t engage the game at all til 131, which felt bandwagonny. As for Yoda himself, kinda liked on balance because of that. Sure, it gives an excuse for lurking which scum!Yoda would want, but it takes away the option to play the newbcard, which I don’t think scum!yoda would give up. I also thought showed a genuine effort to sort.

George was a scumlean because of and . I don’t like the “no reason now” – it implies there was a reason before. The only reason I can come up with is pressure. But if that was the reason, there is no reason not to vote another slot, as I said in 81. So there not consistency in approach. The same is true for the 82-111 sequence. In 82, George votes Spartan for making what the board had
already
established was a pressure vote, but then takes the same action himself (pretending to just realize the pressure thing). I will say that I have reevaluated this slot, however, and think it should be higher.

Salad is a townread by meta. I have played with them or modded them at least twice (cant remember which) and they tend to be lynchbaity town. His tone and acknowledgment of this do not strike me as hiding behind meta, but rather trying to help through it. His activity levels alone take him off the table for me in this game which is struggling for content.
