Why do I do this to myself?? Why do I ALWAYS do it??

I mean..

- I check the replacements to see where I can help
- I spot a game that is not too bad to replace into (it's a Normal) and has just started (D1.. 23 pages)
- I check the players list and there's nobody I'd hate to play with, and there's even a bunch of names that I actually LOVE to play with (some them will might tunnel me, some may get extra cautious, but still..)
- I tell myself to READ before I join
- I immediately change my mind for fear the slot might be taken by the time I actually send my PM
- I join the game and it is CRAZY and I have no clue what everybody's doing or where they're coming from

This is by the end of page 10, and it's partially in response to Morality's attitude in particular. I dunno if his screaming is classic Scum!FL (it could be and I have seen him do it) or if it's Town!FL gambitting/trolling (I also have seen him do it). I could write it off as NAI, but then I'm not comfortable doing even that!

I’m actually rather calm in early game as scum, I feel. People didn’t think i had much content.

I fake claimed, but only the people who knew me knew I was fake claiming, so it wasn’t like this at all.

I dunno. You should know better as he was scum with you the last game. As for me, I have given up on trying to read him in any given game. that's why I didn't push him in that game.

Honestly I don’t even really care about Day 1 beyond not lynching a potentially strong town player because I find that scum win rates go up when you lynch scum Day 1 - and some players just shouldn't get near LYLO.

Would you care to rephrase this in simple English?

You say you don't want to lynch a string TOWN player on D1, which is fair. Then you say scum win rates go up when we lynch SCUM D1?? SO you want to lynch a townie who's play is weak?? Am I reading this correct?

Quoting for later. There's one scum out of these 3 wagons. ONE. And there's ones scum player vote out of the 4 not voting the scum. Mark my words.

In other words: If any of Morality/trus/Dolittle flip red then the other two are town AND the two voting them as town as well. That's FOUR conf!townies in my book.

And if any of RCE/ben/Mizzy/BEF/Salad/bob flips red then the other 5 are all town AND the player they were voting here is town as well. That's SIX confirmed townies in my book.

So, I'ma prolly be looking for the scum in the 6 players pool because it gives me more townies, and I already have BEF as town here so it's a 5 players pool for me actually. I also have a Town lean on RCE, so maybe not him but I am not removing him completely from the pool unless someone else flips red. So, let's say RCE is off the list for today only.

Now I do have a problem. I believe I only played bob once maybe (the name is familiar, bur I don't remember specifics). As for ben/Mizzy/Salad I don't even think I've played them before, so I need some massive help sorting them.

I kinda want to know if effort is AI for them, as part of my TR is based on effort. I don't see me doing these walls they're making if I was scum.

If anything I'm trying to wall less cos I know it can make games hard for people to read, I ended up site flaking due to taking on to much (+ mental health) a while back and part of that was the amount of effort I put into posts. That said I've not played scum other than a newbie game I replaced into right before the site flake. It also means I'm only taking one game on at a time until I'm absolutely sure I can do more.

I can say I struggle at keeping up my town persona in scummy roles in other hidden roles games, but I've only played those in person so there might be an element of face to face deceit having an impact on my play.

Honestly if I didn't know my role PM and that I'm just super tired all the time from crazy sleeps I'd say the fact I'm struggling to finish my re-read would be scum indicative of me, in terms of effort.

When he told Bef to confine him. Since Light did the same in the show to prove he wasn't writing names in the death note while "Kira" continued to kill. Both traitor and SK fit that theme.

That's a bit too contrived even for someone like FL. His claims/crumbs have always been much more obvious in my experience with him.

Because "Occam's Razor". When I saw the VC the first thought that jumped at me was what I just said. I inspected it further on my mind and it looks like the most likely scenario, so I posted it for my own reference. I'll revisit when we have flops and info to see if it still holds, bit for now that's where I'm coming from.

I have no particular read on DDL other than he's probably 33.33% scum (as a member of the Pretentious, tris, DrDolittle 1/3 scum pool). I dislike both pretentious and tris though so maybe DDL is less than 33.33%?? I mean, I don't have a confident SR on either but they both are confusing to me. You may add ben to the confusing pool if you like. Confusing as I can't really get a read or understand where they're coming from.

So far my confident TRs are BED and Skellen. My Town leans are RCE and Mizzy. I have yet to form a read on you (you haven't done anything overly AI from my perspective), and neither did bob. LUV is someone I'll never be able to read for the rest of my life (and I have been scum with him of late, and I couldn't tell the difference between what he did there and what he does as town. I mean he USED TO BE more active as scum, but lately he has been lurking as either alignments)
