Okay, so if you targeted a townread, that was scum indicative. If you targeted a decent scum suspect that was town indicative. If you claim your target now, you're forced to follow through on that claim. Meaning, say, that you claimed to target a scumread (let's say mikan, for example) and mikan gets run up. We get to force you to claim their flavor before they flip. Mikan flips a different flavor than your claim, obviously you're lying and we lynch your scummy ass. If you target Mikan, and then Mikan is nk-d without crumbing flavor that's an interesting note in favor of your lynch.

Having scummy people day flavor cop scummy people is actually a legitimate choice that I'm weighing right now. It's a trade off of bringing LYLO one day closer against forcing scum to use their flavor cop on people whose identities they don't want to prioritize.

Of course, the third option is Even, which is probably the most immediate choice for town but also the safest claim for scum. You can safely lie about having targeted her as scum because she's already flavor claimed. If you get asked what she is after she's run up, it accomplishes fuckall. It's not necessarily a waste of your proscum action because we have no way of verifying your target.

There's another very slight piece of utility in claimed targets that I won't out unless we go through with /everyone targets a scumread today/ plan, btw. It's not big enough to warrant effecting my self deliberations on whether that's the right play though.

No. That is objectively worse than just having everyone flip today.

The trick to locking everyone into hated and a target is that it basically gives us a no lynch in return for ensuring scum doesn't get to use their flavor cops with impunity. If we can get two phases of failed kills out of it or there is some other method by which we can get to evens in the setup (vig/sk/protection) it's worth the risk. I don't think it's likely there's a method to get to evens and there's at least the implication in my role that there are people who can be forced into flipping (I'm not saying whether I am one or not) which would nullify the protection making scum investigate scummy players gives.

No, we're not massclaiming today. The setup is obviously designed to reward town for making scum miss kills early. Like, painfully so.

Assuming 6 town deaths, D4 would be 9 alive. Which is LYLO if there are 4 scum. 15 is a wildcard between 3 scum with lots of power or 4 scum with only a little.

So no, even in the worst case scenario of 6 town deaths and a living townie who is outed as hated we don't necessarily lose D4.

Honestly, probably shouldn't be as strong as it is now that I look at it, but for now I'm comfortable treating it as a townslot. I might reevaluate if her quality drops.

everyone plays differently and comparing anything to my scumplay is of course, a load of bullshit, but this is the sort of post i've made multiple times as scum, especially the "now that i look at it again it's not so strong, but that's alright for now" feeling. plus the vague "i can see where she's coming from" reason.

As far as being laidback, the Jay clan as a whole plays the survivor game regardless of alignment. That's a nulltell. When they're not under pressure, scum Jays tend to be loud and in charge. Town Jays tend to be loud and do whatever they feel like. This Jay isn't trying to be in charge, but is being loud. Granted, I have more experience with Jays of the Elsa variety, but I believe this to be a universal tell across all Jays.
