I mean yes there is a risk in gov in that one could save a mafia/cult lynch or we could even end up giving it to mafia or a cult recruit so they could save a team member/WIFOM us but generally speaking I think its a pro-town power and I'd kinda expect for other town to see the potential town benefit in it and want to keep it within the town. Thus I think there are going to be a ton of scum on the "no gov" wagon. For mafia, I could see them

wanting it b/c A.) they need as many lynches as they can get and gov doesn't help them with that. B.) they don't want to risk creating a link by saving thier own buddy or face questions/risk a lynch by getting it and not using it.

I especially do not like Icon's framing of gov=

Having a 1-shot governor be able to stop a lynch out of 40 people is fine, pro-information, and voting no governor gets nothing.

The gov is just going to cause a lot of drama down the line, so let's just not. You get more information off a lynch then a governor.

Any logic to this?

I got my PM, said "oh hey, this will be fun when it starts" and then left it to chkflip to tell me when it started because I had nothing to do, no reason to engage with the game.

On the other hand, someone who gets a scum PM has a scum PT and is engaged with the game and waiting for it to start and thus noticed when the nonsense begins. Obviously plenty of people will see it in the Large Theme list and what not, but all equal, anyone who posted before chkflip deigned to tell us the game started gets a mild mark against them.

this feels like a forced/weak attempt to start playing the game.
