Hectic awoke with a start. His dreams had been filled with cults and bus drivers, and the transition into wakefulness took longer than normal.

His eyes adjusted to the surroundings and he groaned. It was a groan of a man who knew he had truly
fucked up
. The clock on the wall read 1pm.

1pm.

What did that mean? Well, it meant he was going to be late to the mafia game of course. He could only imagine the bulky bandwagon that would've formed outside his door. This wasn't going to be fun.

He sighed and leapt off the bed, strolling with feigned confidence - just in case there were any hidden cameras - towards the desk on the opposite end of the room. Speaking of the room, it was clinical and extremely clean. Almost
too
clean for comfort. Did that mean he was a doctor this time?

He peered down at the dusty role PM that lay upon the desk. This was the moment of truth. He reluctantly picked it up, accepting whatever fate that the Old Gods had in store for him.

Bulletproof Lynchproof Town 10-shot Day Vigilante.

For a moment, Hectic simply stared at the sheet of paper. He hadn't recieved a role PM in many years and this one could very well be his last.

Finally, he set the PM down. It wasn't great, but it wasn't his worst either. Most importantly, it was something he could work with.

I should add: I did consider this, but overall it feels more like a scum thought process “this person has done things that are not towny, therefore I will look towny if I push them and if I point out the non-towny things they did other people are more likely to vote them and to believe that I’m town”

Like I certainly have a tendency to do this as scum, whereas I think when I’m town I’m more open to thinking “okay, that’s antitown, but is it actually scum?”

I don't like the fake post restriction and I think that's somewhat likely to come from scum. And they aren't doing much of anything.
Why would you think the unbolded was about you and not the bolded?
Why would you rely on someone else to ISO you can complain that they didn’t think you meant for them to actually do it?
Gamma and I have a lengthy back and forth. There was no way I was gonna requote it myself and I didn't want to type a lengthy post b/c ya know effort. So telling him to read what I've already wrote seems like a perfectly good thing to do.

Why did you vote me over Cephir? Why have you called everyone that suspected you scum (me, chen, chem) but not cephir?
So Gamma was too lazy to read it himself yet YOU decide to request someone else to do it?
Also “everyone who suspected me scum”
Not at all.
Chemist maybe, but Chunn didn’t suspect me but I Scum Read Him for the way he choose to make his Decision.
And I don’t like the way you made Cephir’s vote on me look better then it actually was.
Like Cephir was like “I’ll vote TSE because Gut scummy”
You made it seem at least to me that he had a really good reason to vote me.
Which I feel is scummy. So I voted you.

Her reaction to me in the initial phases was pretty natural even if it was wrong approach to take. I don’t think scum fake that path to go for a scumread. She basically interacted with me to my expectations of someone who hasn’t played with me and who has the personality of amrun has (at least as much of her personality I can analyze thus far)

I also generally don’t think scum actually go for “lynch baity” players as scum. I find scum argue a town is going for someone who is lynch baity more often than the scum to be doing it. So I am weakly in the town amrun camp right now.

Even though I don’t like her approach to me and think she is playing kind of low level while she probably thinks she is doing higher level analysis.

Also the main reason I Scum Read Chemist isn’t that he scum read me.
It’s

TBH it could easily be a miss Lynch.
From my experience the best Lynch is to do it in the middle of near the end of Day 1.
Usually pulling and pushing a lynch from there can hit scum.
Most first pushes of Day 1 is either a miss Lynch, joke vote or a scum bus.

I can see that argument there’s like lots of weird certainty in amrun that makes me go “okay are you like thinking about this in depth or just reacting here” but at same time I don’t think it’s literally just find someone to lynch even though it feels flimsy with all her pushing and reads.

Right now I am just in the camp her kind of way of sorting just makes these kinds of reads where she takes a post and makes a big leap on them without doing a heavy amount of counter thought to it.

Does that make sense?

Like everything she has done could come from scum just trying to look like sorting but it doesn’t feel like it is. These feel like her actual thoughts and responses it’s just that they suck.

mena asked me about my Gamma read. I think its a perfectly reasonable reply to tell him that I've already typed a bunch of stuff up and he can go read it if he wants. Whether he does or not is irrelevant.
