I don't know what it is about me, but if I had dollar for every time someone said something along the lines of "Dann seems to be playing very politically," "he's too agreeable," or "he strikes me as a very safe player" I could probably buy some stylish yet affordable boots. That may not be quite what you're getting at there but it struck a chord in that me trying to do what I'm "meant" is very often just an aspect of my character. In this instance however, I can say I wasn't really paying attention to the wagons regarding you/TSE/Saudade beyond me thinking "Saudade's posts annoyed me" and "oh hey there's a wagon there already cool good vote." It felt slightly better than TSE because Saudade's reactions felt gut pinged me worse than anything TSE had done up to that point.

First of all, I don't want to kill you 6 pages into the game even if I scum read you. My vote on you was more of a tool to try to gauge your alignment because you're a priority sort for me and I wasn't wowed by your entrance.

Second of all, my feelings regarding you up to that point were closer to "duck seems like he's pushing/picking at things to look town more than I think he's actually being town" than "I don't understand; therefore, die." My lack of aligning probably contributed to the former feeling but you're definitely correct that messy!Duck isn't necessarily a scum!duck.

Now, you're probably really not going to trust this AT ALL but I'm putting it out there that I have a pretty strong gut town read on you at this moment. Your interactions with other slots since my last post have aided that somewhat, but the crux of that feeling mainly comes down to how you reacted to my last post. Last night, I read #152 and decided that not only was it too late to respond but it would probably be bad idea for me to right away given that I came away reading it as... mildly dissatisfied? Ticked off? I wasn't really angry—I don't really get angry—but I think it was just not a great day and I came away slightly annoyed.

I've been thinking about that since then and I think it's a bigger indicator of town!you than anything else. This is like... entirely tone based so it may not make much sense or seem that strong to anyone else but I'm going to try and explain it anyway. Basically,

stuck with me most and it seemed like a very flippant/terse/short way to respond to a part of my post that was not only not addressed to you but probably my only REAL content so far this game. I imagined this was affected in some part by my scumread/push/questioning on you, which is fine. You continue this kind of critical tone in #154 and it's more... confrontational than I would expect from scum duck. It seems obvious you're genuinely trying to sort me. I still have this image in my head of scum!duck being overly friendly and somewhat pockety and town!duck being a lil tired and a lil messy. I have a one game meta with each so I'm sure that's not universally true but that might give you a sense what I'm basing this off of.

Anyway, if you were scum, I would sort of expect you to have a slightly more conciliatory tone towards me. Not that you'd immediately town read me but I don't think the (maybe?) slight level of annoyance I detected comes from a you that knows my alignment. I think, knowing my alignment, you'd expect me to be generally townier as the game went on anyway and would pre-empt that tone wise as well.

This is way way too many words to say that I just have a strong gut feeling you wouldn't respond to me with that tone as scum. It's a razor thin difference in tone which makes it hard to articulate. I also feel like pretty much every other slot in the game would walk away thinking it's NAI but I've had a lot of interactions with you and I trust this feeling—which is a big deal for me because I'm the king of second guessing myself.

not annoyance - mostly tiredness - I'd feel more comfortable if you weren't taking my tone as strongly AI (I'm just really moody >:c) but this is also a pretty big step up in nuance wrt your actual read and I like it.

This is a really strange opener for scumvisibility
it's like assertively ~anti-flow~ read given kageso has been relatively vocal vs. una (which is a kinda ok take) and a Noisy Player in TSE has just stated a townread on kageso when there's been very few stated reads at this point in the game

scumvisibility can do weird stuff but this would be like going for a walk down a lovely creek then just laying across it to form a dam

it's surprisingly visible for such a minimalistic opener and unless he's scum with TSE I just don't feel like it's an intuitive way for returning scum to slide into this game

also like I think Kageso is..... somewhat reasonably towny? but he reads like a returning player; there's something there tonally which makes me think he's trying to find his footing. scum or returning!town, can be either. but townreads on him aren't tonal, right? they're surely content oriented because his tone isn't towny at all.
