Are you sure the Virus affects people in the same way? For you it might be Vanilla-izing; for scum it could just millerize and that just helps them.

Vecna's flip says the virus millerizes but the receivers won't be aware of this.
So the Vanilla-izer has to be on top of the millerizer at least, or maybe the vanilla-ization comes from elsewhere.
