I'm probably weird for thinking that newbie games should just be a super simple open setup where PRs are determined by chance and not in a way that involves a logic table
It feels like newbies aren't learning the skills which will be super relevant in other games on site because so much of newbie games devolve into logic table setup speculation
Whew. Is it over? It’s over. What a wild ride it’s been following this game. Glad to see the B-team rise from the ashes of the dumpster fire and make a good game out of it, was rooting for the entire cast to be replaced. When I bailed I wasn’t sure if I was playing mafia or just reenacting week-long toxic internet arguments and it only got worse from there, glad you folk showed what a proper game could be like. Thanks for taking on my torch Nauci, t’was a good effort. Still proud of being able to ride the newbie status and get virtually everyone to townread me, though I don’t know if I could’ve kept it up through later days. Can’t say if I’m inclined to do a pbf mafia game again.. but this was certainly an interesting experience.
Honestly feathers try an open or even a normal. As I've stated this setup just turns into a PoE fest every time and just takes the wrong from the sails.
This game turned interesting just due to no cop or masons. Which opens the game up a lot to not play follow the leader.

Ah, I was under the impression that I needed to complete five Newbie games before I participated in any other setup? Perhaps I misremember. I’ll give opens/normals a gander. Also, as a side note - what is the moderation policy on MafiaScum? I’m not placing blame on you, it’s just that in most other communities I’ve been involved in FormerFish and Osuka would’ve merited warnings or bans early. Considering that FF wasn’t even going to be force replaced if not for the number of players replacing out due to him - is this kind of behavior accepted as “normal game talk” around these parts?
Nauci I shouldn't have self voted until we had discussed more about who the jailkeeper was
My thoughts on newbie setups: I put forward what I saw as a fairly simple fakeclaim but due to the setup it became an ultra confusing claim that people were glad that not many newbies were around for
It's hard to judge sometimes. And this game just turned into mud slinging back and forth. FF and osuka have had their actions reported as well and that's all I can say on that.
Be happy you aren't in my dms. Anything more on it pm me and I can answer any questions you may have.
Feathers - no that's too be an SE in the newbie queue. Like if you want a fun read Open 779 just finished and was nothing like this.
Even I was confused by the claim and I'm the mod.

I once said "fuck you" to a player after they post what, to me, was a long string of condescending and patronizing and frankly sexist remarks, and got a warning immediate and have felt guilty about it for what, 2 years now?
I took a very long hiatus but I don't consider this game to be typical. People get angry and heated sometimes, but I thought FF crossed the line pretty much from the get go.
I feel like I used every ounce of effort I could possibly produce to post and scumhunt as well as possible (this was as close as I could possibly get to posting as if I'm town, to Lilith and Dunnstral's detriment), and I thought I had figured out who the jailer was at the beginning. I felt like I was being pretty widely townread after a strong start from feathers but literally threw away dozens of hours of anxiety filled effort posting by not figuring out who the jailer is QQ
I don't even know how to play in figure games any more because almost everything I ever do as town that normally isn't at all conceivably scummy I mostly managed to replicate in this game so no one will ever believe me about anything I ever say again lmao
Tell me about it, Nauci. I’m still actually a newbie. I feel like no question I ask or simple mistake I make is going to be seen as innocuous again heh.

Hi gg all, glad to have been a side character in it all. Just a quick point of clarification—even though I joked about it and the city does have its issues, I do love Pittsburgh dearly lol
I wasn't saying it in jest, Nauci - I really wanted to see you try to twist this today. (Your only real recourse would be to claim you were Cop, misunderstood the setup, and didn't want to out yourself in the mass claim because you believed we had already caught scum - a VERRRRRY tough sell but you never know if you don't try!)
You really needed to counterclaim Jailkeeper instead of VT, though.
