Just a random thought, but wouldn't it be nice if we held a Eurovision-inspired Song Contest? In this contest we would need to pick artists that performed at a Eurovision, but pick any of their other songs besides the song they participated with.
Does this sound better than BOTB?
Currently away from site for indeterminate time (except for Song Contest)
TK - t00's deadlines are loose. You're possibly fine. I think multiple people have tried to submit the same song at least once in the past 15 contests, and sadly the result isn't as interesting as you'd hope - whoever didn't get to it first gets locked out and told to submit something else. The real question is when we're going to see two versions of the same song at once
viz - I mean I can submit ABBA again in about 12 contests...
Everything you say and do matters. People will respond in ways you may never see. May those responses be what you intend.

I wouldn't mind themed contests, but Eurovision itself seems like a really limited and boring theme. I'd prefer them be more topical and broad, like if we did a Pride-themed contest for June for example.
Songs posted! We had cuts for the first time in a long time, and I decided that if any of the people who were cut want me to put their entries first in line for the next time I will do that. So if you're one of the people who was cut, PM me and I will copy-paste your entry in for SC152.

same tbh
OTOH I don't think I can take another 30-person contest for a while
clearly the correct solution is to listen to all of the entries and then, via an ordered ranking system, judge which ones shouldn't be allowed in this contest

So, how is "everyone else" decided after the below mentioned 3 criteria?
3. Current Song Contest Team (toolenduso and JurgenVW)
"Don't be afraid of losing people. Be afraid of losing yourself by trying to please everyone."
"If you're bored contemplate the fact that the collective reads of n players in a n-player game of Mafia define a set of vectors in an n-space, and useful game information can be extracted from this."

Also, no. The people running the song contest should not decide which songs are "good enough" to make it in. That's all kinds of garbage right there. At that point everyone suddenly has to play to what they want.
You enter, you may be randomly not involved if theres a lot of entries, the way it has always been since the start. You can still vote in this contest after all. Your song can simply be entered into the next one.
(4) isn't applicable and (5) is literally what I'm asking clarification for

Can't be first come first served since I'm probably the last one who submit.
I had sent pretty early on as well. Meh, that sucks then. Imo it should be first come first serve instead of rng.
