Hydrae are personally admitted and discussed on a slot by slot basis with me prior to the game with the awareness for the potential of the downfalls that comes with allowing hydrae into your games. I recognize that while those downfalls exist, there is something to be said for their upsides as well, and all hydrae I allow in I believe are capable of playing competent mafia without being detrimental to the game; that is: hindering slot inconsistencies by maintaining activity throughout the game and minimizing toxicity by keeping hydra spam to a minimum.
My games are run with the intention of keeping mafia mechanically separate from flavor with vanilla roles to allow for solid play, enjoyment of flavor, and experimentation with what is often accepted as optimal for both the player and the mod, such as preventing mafia-aligned players from having private chat during the day or giving PTs to each individual player and allowing them to be quoted directly into the game thread. If you find portions of my games are counter to the allowance of solid mechanical play and maintaining enjoyment for the player, you're welcome to bring it up with me, but for consistency's sake I will not go back on rulings I've made when pertaining to any game unless they are bad to an extent that continuing with them would be ruinous by my own definition.
