have you ever heard the phrase "caught for the wrong reasons"? it's a stupid cliche that bad players, like myself, use to describe when a player reacts poorly to a poor case on them.

as in: beeboy, caught for the reason reasons.

maybe can you share 3 spicy reads (excluding beeboy)? i think that would help give me a sense for where you're holding rn

"caught" is relative. the point stands.

morningtweet is town, midwaybear is scum(?). dunnstral is scum.

i think, as scum here, it's probably very easy to just shove at me. but the way you're engaging seems less like "feeling out for a good mislynch" and more like an actual effort to sort me!

midway i'm tentative on because apparently he has a reputation for being scummy. i was back modding a game he was in where i kind of saw that. i would like to pressure that slot though. dunnstral i was fine with early because his initial vote was RVS and latching onto the tiniest reasons then is fine. but he's stubbornly held onto the read when i and others have asked him to go back and recontextualize it.

I don't really see why scum would try to paint it as a 1v1 especially if there wasn't a lot of momentum at the time.
Sorry I had two quotes up in separate tabs and I typed my answer in the tab with the wrong quote  what I just said be in response to the quote above.

Repasted for convenience:
I’m with skitter on this one - nahdia didn’t seem to react to tux at all, only to beeboy’s reaction to tux, which links back to my hypothesis of scum being more at arms’ length from interactions
It felt like maybe the reason you jumped in with a comment on beeboy instead of tux was that you were uncomfortable with engaging with tux’s posts directly. Which goes along the same lines as the “arms’ length interactions” I’ve been talking about.

I didn’t see that you had mentioned a reaction to Tux so I’m gonna reread your ISO and get back to you

So I was sitting at my desk, trying to help this lovely elderly woman and on my break, I started to mull over why I have a lack of scumreads and I decided maybe I should look at this another way. If I can't find the scum maybe I should just go back to focusing in finding town and working that angle.

I would love to hear more from drusilla/Kanna/Raven/Mid because they're in my 'need more content' pile. Although I've seen a few townreads on the first 2 I think almost no one would hard defend/disagree with a lynch on the latter. I don't know if pressing them for content is a good idea because you don't want to rush reads, but this is mostly me emptying my thoughts before I forget something.

I probably should've added on some kind of question onto that post now that I think about it, but I can't really think of one that would really help with my reads. Hm, how about.

What do the 4 people above think about the gamestate right now? What is scum doing at the moment?

Both of them fit into the same category for me. I wanna give them some space. I believe Raven when she says she's having a hard time getting into the game and I don't think I'd feel comfortable wagoning someone with 5 posts. Nahdia doesn't have any real confident scumreads and I've always had this feeling where if Nahdia got wagoned I wouldn't be upset but I wouldn't have a real reason to want to join the wagon either. The only real thing I remember much of from her without having to go click the ISO button is her push on beeboy who seems to be more townread than scumread. So I want to know more on why Nahdia isn't trying to convince more people.

Imo raven saying “The more I read, the more confused I am” feels more like a performative “poor me” than like, a reachout for someone to help get her engaged

I feel like I've had that same type of sentence said to me about 3 different people this game and I can't tell if I'm just being too trusting or you guys are brutal. Regardless, if she's scum and that's the angle she's going for it isn't going to do her much favors.

Raven's posts don't seem to have a coherent thought process behind them, the statements in the posts are disjointed, and her points also feel very distant from the gamestate, like she's avoiding talking about the biggest events of the game (ie skitter vs dunn, tux vs beeboy).

Her reaction to being in votato's POE was really weird - she assumed votato was focusing on "LHF" (including her) when I disagree with that entirely, which I think could indicate feeling nervous about being in POEs/being pressured; and she also shaded votato for this and like, ascribed scum motivations to votato's post that I don't see at all.

Also she seems to say "I don't understand X" or "I'm confused about Y" a
lot
which comes off as like.. an excuse to not provide more substantive content (see: performative "poor me")
