Oh God not Condorcet (OGNC). Unless you have a plan for processing it Mirth, it will only get us going backwards, not towards a lynch. (Even if we can process it competently, there are several arguments against the use of Condorcet, especially at deadline. See what Pooky has to say in this thread for details.)

Forlight's posts are making my eyes cross, and I'm ashamed to say that the only points I've read thus far are the ones that started with my name. I'll get around to the others.

@82: I was kinda mocking the tendency of some towns (including this one it seems) to completely scramble for a lynch at deadline. A complete compromise is not ideal and should be put off until the very last second in the hopes that we can post a decent lynch.

My opinion on Spacecase: He made a massively ill-informed claim, realized it, and is never coming back. I don't know about anybody else, but he certainly gave me the impression of a player who would do something like that. He needs to be replaced ASAP so we can resolve this issue.

Nyeh, if it looks like buddying I apologize. I can't help it if pro town players make me happy . I'll say the same thing to you as I did Mirth.

I think that if I am buddying up to you whether on purpose or by accident, it's better to get it out there now rather than try to play it off.

Viv, at this point I just want people to talk and possibly agree on a lynch, thought suggesting Condorcet might achieve that since one of the primary lynch candidates kind of shut down communication what with disappearing and all. I agree that Spacecase probably isn't coming back.

How I intend to process it: Find an algorithm on the interwebs to do it for me. Or assign each rank per list a number (first person on list gets 1, second a 2, etc, it case of a tie for a slot, they get the same number and the next person gets a number one more than that slot. Example: 2 people tie for 2nd, they both get a number 2, but the person behind them gets a 4. Add up totals for each person off all lists. Person with the lowest total = least objectionable lynch.)

Maybe you could explain why you don't like it? And if you don't like it is there any other alternative you feel like suggesting? Because sitting around not doing anything isn't how I'd like us to reach deadline. If you don't like Condorcet then maybe you could put forward a better case on Darla and or Falcone? Also, I'm suspicious because you don't *like* my idea? So regardless of whether my idea has any merit whatsoever I'd still be suspicious if you didn't agree with it?

I hate having to do what I'm about to do, and I hate Spacecase for making me do it, but with the deadline pretty close and the votes and voting lists the way they are, I think that all in all it's worth it to avoid a probable mislynch. We shouldn't lynch Spacecase. He claimed my exact role.



I'm the right boob, and I'm looking for the left one. At night, I can target another player, and if I find the left boob, we become masons. Before anyone asks, alignment is not mod-confirmed, but given the flavor and the fact Spacecase claimed my exact role, I think the chance he's scum is extremely small.

He never said he was one of her breasts just that he's Ms. Choksondik...but you'd have to be a really brazen scum pair to pull this...put I'm not discounting the possibility that one of you might be scum...I find it noteworthy that you didn't breadcrumb anything after Farside asked what people think of the claim.

I did a reread and didn’t like Lord Gurgi’s reaction to being questioned about putting the Mod on his protown list (in #196). Especially his #210 sounds like someone who’s annoyed to have made a stupid mistake and who's trying to brush it off. I think forgetting who’s the Mod is something that scum are more likely to do when they’re fabricating protown lists than townies who’re honestly giving their opinions about others. There’s also the other aspect of his #196, that where he says he would lynch Spacecase or xyzzy when given the chance and then proceeds to not put them anywhere on his scum list.

I realize this isn’t a great case, but since he claimed Miller and seeing the reactions to that claim and his interactions with everyone throughout the Day, I think he’d be both a good information lynch and a good best-worst-case-scenario lynch.

As for Darla, I have to agree she’s rather blatantly not cooperating, and again, she’d be a good information lynch.


To clarify and pre-empt some inevitable questions: I believe no great case has been made against anyone. Therefore, there are like 5 or 6 plausible lynch candidates. I think the town should choose someone to lynch that’s both unlikely to be of much value (role-wise I mean) and whose death will tell us something meaningful about a couple of others.

Well, Mirth, breadcrumbing would have been fairly pointless, wouldn't it? It wouldn't prove anything, because it could just as well be done by Spacecase's scum partner at that point.

I did try to react in such a way that wouldn't make it extremely obvious I was Spacecase's mason-partner-to-be, hence me unvoting without directly referencing the claim and revoting in a separate post. There was no need to give possible role-fishing scum (Lord Gurgi’s #299, Darla’s #303) any more information than was necessary.

I feel, however, it's necessary to claim now.
