Yup. At the end of the alley, there was a very old corpse and an ATM machine, by the bank’s back door.

I was compelled to return here first. As apparently we all were. That’s community for you.

Johannes responds to Xavier.
"Well let's see what we have..." He wanders back toward the elevators. "From what I saw before, there are two elevators, but they appear to have no power. There are additionally some stairs going up, which are blocked, and some stairs going down to some sort of basement. I haven't noticed any doors behind the elevators, so if I had to guess, the machinery and power distribution center would probably be down below."
Search more thoroughly around elevators
Press elevator call button ("Up" if there's a choice)

"I wonder..."
Attempt to force open elevator doors (assuming call button does nothing)

"Well anyway young man, if you or anyone else thinks they can get the elevator working, be my guest."
Whisper to Porochaz

Johannes then turns to Carouthers "Thank you for your help with the auto."
Whisper to Primate

Johannes then turns to Sir Leo. "Let us discuss the bank, for it seems that we've gone from zero ways in to two."
Whisper to Green Crayons (from as far as I can while remaining discreet)

Finally he turns his attention to Carla. "I will certainly do my best to exchange this while in the bank."

There are two elevators doors here, one either side of the staircases.

Johannes searches around the elevators. If he found anything of note, it wasn't obvious to any one watching, if at all they cared. He presses the UP button, but the UP button is off. The lights on the elevators are totally off as well. There's no indication what floor the cars are on.

He attempts to force the door open of the northern most elevator. He manages to get them open, and is greeted by an empty elevator-car, lights out. The buttons inside are clearly off. Doing his best to hold the doors open, and reach inside to the buttons, he tries them all to no avail. The last one he presses is the help button. It doesn't seem to connect to anyone or anything.

Having done what he could, he heads to the other elevator and repeats. This time there is no car. A glance up and down suggests that this level is as far down as a car could go anyway. Down, out of arms reach are the safety springs and cable mechanisms. Up, above is the underside of the car, it's hard to tell in the dark but it does appear to be two storeys up. A flexible person might be able to climb up there, but then what? There is another set of doors one storey up, they might just be reachable. But do so would be in the almost pitch-black. And just as he thinks about this, Johannes lets go of the doors he is holding. They spring shut. Anyone who was in and climbing would be in complete darkness.

Hey, guys, I can do this! I need to gather some equipment. Unless any of you have cables, some sort of rubber tubing or petrol? I will also need some help once I've got the equipment. Anyone willing?
