It’s L1 so theoretically his reasoning of “people are bad and make bad trades” shouldn’t hold for his league?
People are bad and make bad trades 100% holds for this league.
Also, this isn't a dynasty league. There's no reason(or risk) to trade draft slots because there are no assets. Also it negates the whole point of doing a preset draft order in general, because the people w/ desirable draft slots can all switch for their desired spot while someone with a shit slot..like say...7 is just stuck. Also like I said, there are no assets. Like bruh, the order is the order. The only way i'd allow switching the order is if you bid and that went to a pot at the end of the season, other wise just take your slot you got assigned and bitch at KMD for not setting slots until less than 24 hours before the draft.
I think you’d have a point if there was an objective “fourth pick is the best, then ninth, then seventh, then first, ..., then eleventh” order for the picks, because then any trade would be objectively bad/borderline collusion. But people are going to have different preferences, and a pick order trade could hypothetically benefit both parties.

The reasoning was that it let us play an even 13-week schedule of playing everyone in the division twice and playing everyone outside the division once.
Unless someones entire fantasy team gets covid, no one is all ten and min, no one should have a rush as large as what rec seems to infer. And a rush of injuries can really effect anyone not just last so i am not on board with reck.
FAAB (Free Agent Auction Budget, I think?) gives you a $100 (or whatever the commish's heart desires) budget to spend on waiver wire acquisitions over the course of the season; the person that spends the most on a player during the waiver period gets them and pays however much money they bid. You still use another waiver system to settle ties, but the
vast
majority of ties will be when multiple people try to get a player while only bidding $0.
We use it for the fantasy baseball auction league each year and it seems to be relatively effective, even though it generally doesn't work as well because there's a waiver period every day (for 180 waiver periods per season) instead of at most two per week (30 per season).

What? If you contest a player on waivers (ie. Both of you pick up the same person) and win you get dropped down to 12th, and everyone else gets moved up a spot.

Idk how that gets balanced out besides replacing the slot. Y'all could just say 3 teams per division make the playoffs instead of having it be one or two per division plus wild-cards, but that still puts his division at an advantage.

Also at least this league *has* dropped players go to waivers and it's not just a free-for-all for whoever logs on first to get the best players...I think I've seen leagues that don't work that way.

There’s something good about having 9 players that’s the only reason I don’t like adding a flex. Having 100 points as a “Mendoza line” of sorts is a good benchmark that goes away (to an extent) when you add a player. I’d be content replacing WR with flex but wouldn’t be as happy just adding a flex (unless the “kickers die a horrible death” one also happens).

Yeah it's not "I'll give you Aaron Rodgers for a 2nd next year", it's "I'll trade you my picks for your picks" between draft order reveal and the draft itself.

My inclination is still Wednesday morning. The date for all waiver players right now if you try to pick one up is the Wednesday, which I think is what it always is.

Here is league 2 after 11 weeks
This thanksgiving week we got a treat. The 2 division leaders that have been 1-2 most of the season finally play each other. Both are getting byes but who will be seed 1?
Racing to the Endzone, Coggers, #47 is eligible, Men Without Helmets respectively for the four you’re missing

The main reason L2 is using 6 is to normalize the schedule, I’m pretty sure. A 13 week regular season with two divisions of five can be two games against each divisional opponent and one game against each team from the other division. Then playoffs weeks 14-16 and we’re good.
Two teams have clinched playoffs, two are 8-5, three are 7-6, and all five of them have a relatively okay chance at making the playoffs...
Basically -
If I win I’m in regardless of what else happens
If PJ wins he’s in regardless of what else happens
If neither PJ nor I win, Tally is in
And all four of me/PJ/PEG/Yiley are within 50 points of each other (with me/PEG/Yiley even closer), so the WC race is going to be something between any of me/PJ that lose and any of PEG/Yiley that win

She beat me by ~12 this week and plays Panzer next week. This week was the first time she’s broken the 100 point barrier since Week 3, but she’s on a three-game win streak. Relevant matchups next week are:

Well I’d be 2-4 but yeah.
Also I’m not gonna post the percentages again because they’re not accounting for this - I ran it just now and it says Tally can’t make the playoffs, so it must not see our settings properly.

TD37 (who’s the person that benched Akers) is playing PEG this week. They benched Akers last-minute in response to the news about CMC going down in order to start Mike Davis - but PEG is the CMC owner. Obviously we’ll see how things look on Sunday, but if Davis has a rough game you could potentially argue that PEG’s first round pick missing this week’s game is a net positive for him!

I do, but if Mike Davis hangs like 5 and Montgomery (assuming that was PEG’s replacement) does well, then that’s what happens! The chances that CMC was going to get a full load of touches on Sunday coming back from injury were relatively low anyway.

Jeez I’m probably explaining this wrong
I’m not trying to say that CMC going down and missing 8 weeks is better than him playing all 16 games for PEG obviously
I’m trying to say that for this single week in a vacuum it may be a net positive that he’s out - that him missing 9 games was actually better than him missing 8 even though neither of those are good to begin with

I’m not entirely sure how seeding for the playoffs work, but do I jump ahead of you in playoff seeding if I do get the 21.5 out of Andrews? Not sure if Yahoo forces the division winners into the top seeds.

Yep, all the fun stuff didn’t happen in L1 (except for PEG winning, but that on its own wasn’t meaningful). Playoff matches are me vs. TD37 and PJ vs. KK.

Me versus PJ for the title in L1. Lots of eyes will be on the Packers/Titans game Sunday night given that PJ has Tannehill and I have Rodgers/Jones/Henry.
