I’ll start by defining mean:
“ the value obtained by dividing the sum of several quantities by their number; an average.”

Diamond is going to hate us for this, but hopefully he warms up and becomes a more fun loving, chill person and forgives us eventually.

Webster's dictionary defines 'mean' as: 'to have in the mind as a purpose'.

As I said before, we shouldn't use language which has in the mind as a purpose that makes people feel bad because then we're the people who have in the mind as a purpose to be the people who have in a mind as a purpose and that might make people feel sad.

The entomology of the word is interesting, but from the absolute mess of a sentence that creates from replacing the word 'mean' with it's true definition we can start to see why the word 'mean' took on negative connotations over time - it makes things messy and bad and generally just less fun to engage with. Let's review what I said earlier but just taking 'mean' to be defined as

Odds are, your lack of transparency is to allow yourself to point at "content", while still being noncommittal about it. By not giving any hard answers or explaining why your answers are the way they are, you're able to adjust your "stance" to best suit the situation at hand.

Which bit reads as genuine from Diamond's anger, I thought it felt kind of overblown. Maybe given he doesn't like the hydras specifically it might make a bit more sense as townmindset- is that what you were thinking?

If you do mean the first bit, because I wanted the whole thread to get my reads, not just the hydra. I feel like if I never posted my reads then people would complain I'm not posting reads so don't see an issue here.

So why do you not ask me about it and get me to clarify my position?? I’m not going to willing give up a strategical advantage that keeping info to myself gives me (and believe it or not town does get an advantage from witholding info, i know it may hurt your brain a little to comprehend this) unless you press me to prove that I have towny intentions for what I do. As I said I’m willing to explain my thought process, but you seem to just want to shade me for playing the game instead of having a genuine concern that this information gets out.

Nero seems fairly townie and we can paint him as a bad person if we keep being nice to him instead of doing meanie things like night killing him. If we don't kill him in the night and stop the other townies killing him in the day then he'll have to play what, eight days with us? At that point we'll have easily cleared 1000 posts and by then I'm sure we'll have converted him with the power of hugs and niceness
