what a good question? gypyx, in short, is town because his posts go against the grain, in a way that makes him stick out as attempting to actively look at the game and understand it. here's a quote from RC that i think fits this:

3) People who have really out there reads, stick out too much, don't agree with the generally established townblock, and want to do their own thing which people don't largely disagree with get lynched incredibly consistently. They also incredibly consistently flip town.

because i feel like gypyx is doing a lot of this atm.

let's start with the opening post, which is often a way to get a lot more information than you'd think about a player's alignment. the jester claim is nai for a player who's playstyle and persona is more casual and shitposty, like gypyx, but this vote is good; in general, this post doesn't look overthought like a scum post would.

again we see both interaction in the form of responding to questions as well as actual takes. admittedly this isn't like a townspew post, but it's part of a pattern of posts by gypyx that just make me see him as town.

maybe like the groupscum got to make choices before other peoples received their role PM's? PM's took quite some time to be sent too from what i recall

if gypyx was scum, and this was true, he would never make this post. this seems like town speculation rather than scum speculation to me.

again - genuine mechanical play from gypyx that doesn't look at all like either scum trying to get towncred from knowing about this or scum trying to mislead the town into this. it looks like he is actually working on trying to figure out the mechanics of this game from an uninformed perspective.

Basically, i found that scum tends to try to say stuff that they know is true when they can, so if scum did in fact made choices pregame, i lean strongly towards scum!jessie

using mechanical speculation and locking himself to some extent into a scumread on jessie if his mechanical speculation is correct. gypyx is never scum with jessie here.

Idk it's just a pattern that i've noticed, like i guess it could be that they want to be "the guy who was right" or smthing

i think gloria is town as well, because she looks like she is making a concerted effort to ask questions, not get locked into town reads, not be pocketed, and generally look at the game from as neutral of a standpoint she can.

scumleaning on trq, because their content is largely setup speculation based off of no information rather than reads. they have 47 posts, and look to be engaging with other players, but refuse to read them which i feel points to scum except in specific situations, specific situations not being day 1 of a silent star game.

obviously i'm not an expert on silent star games and i haven't played one, but ONLY setup speccing on d1 with literally no information on a game that is known to be complex and have twists and turns without a single read on a player in the game is terrible.

I have a townlean on hopkirk because he's playing very much like how TownHopkirk played in Matrix and I don't see the incentive for him to tell me to obvtown if he's red.

Skitter is special, I think she takes a more aggressive tack here if she is red but I could be wrong? I've never played with scum!skitter.

Sometimes someone posts a lot without me townreading any of it but I realize they've been on the defensive all game for justified reasons or isn't talking about things that are good for townspewing for other reasons so I give it a pass and I'm mostly just saying nothing about this game has warranted a pass.

It's definitely not tightly focused on your response about the VT claim. I didn't realize it was confirmed everyone is VT so I thought you had claimed VT in a scenario where Common Wisdom says it's suboptimal play, and I was curious about why town!Jessie does that if you're town. I didn't have very much confidence on being able to sort you off your reply. When it turned out everyone is VT it was much less intriguing and interesting
