I've been kind of gut checking your play against Empire and Regfan for what are probably horrible reasons,

cabd - as I kept reading I tried to think of why scum!cabd would play this way. Nothing ponged me as particularly scummy or fake so the read migrated.

since we're here now, though - on first glance, yeah, a reasonable thought - why would cabd play like this as scum? doesn't make sense. (as an aside i think element's explanations for her reads have been reasonable, overall comfortable vibe). but then the thought comes - there's plenty of reason for cabd to play like this as scum. i don't have a picture in my mind of how he'd play as scum, exactly (and i won't be doing homework on the subject), but you don't get to go on and on in conversations about "apathy as a scum toll", play like he has, and not look suspect when the gamestate is like *gestures broadly* this

Probably the biggest departure from Regfan is that I've picked up the pace of my play considerably, but how we get reads is probably still very similar. However, mine are categorically worse in quality.

heh. Regfan scumread me into oblivion in the first game I played with town-him. It was admittedly a horrible game for me coming out of one of the worst years of my life. Playing mafia as a distraction from disastrous real life is not necessarily a good life choice.

A later game confirmed that he at least initially scumreads my playstyle. Fortunately he was in Gentlemen Bastards and Empire talked him down.

It is useful to think of me as an anti-Regfan. He's the extreme town specialist, I'm the extreme scum specialist.

I don't think it's a bad comparison though given the many years we played and that his style was the one I copied circa ~2011, even if I've definitely put my own spin on it since.

I played to enjoy games, not to play town dictator esp in games with a strong PL.

Yea, but pookie, your other game that just ended (the one with the scroll) you were town and you were doing alot more figuring out. So much figuring out that the last scum just came out and scum claimed. They couldn't take it anymore.

Your questions in that game had alot more thought behind them, not just the reactionary ones you have done so far this game.
