the main issue i'm having is that i'm not seeing any of the SB defenders propose alternatives - feels like a lot of hemming and hawing over the potential for SB to flip town without an attempt to shift the momentum elsewhere

I have read a lot of games with Pooky where he has had successful soul reads including specing a recent game where he had a soul read on town Kanna. The wagon also has a general lack of resistance from scummy slots and a decent amount of resistance from towny slots which suggests to me that it could be a miselim.

But I don't want to run around and get a bunch of claims, let's just flip SB. I'm only like 60/40 on her being town and that's still > rand scum odds.

Okay fwiw I have seen Pooky be really off-base before. I'm sure he has his moments but this isn't necessarily one of them.

What are the scummy slots that are not resisting this? For that to matter, you kind of have to assume that your scumreads are good, which early on is usually a bad assumption.

Why are we even considering not limming SB?

Functionally, she claimed VT after softing power.

At worst, we flip her, she's a functional VT, and we have actual context for the pushes and wagons today.
At best, she's scum.

She can never be allowed to approach endgame at this point.
She will never be solved by scum actions.
If we don't eliminate her, this is still going to be a major distraction on later days, when, you know, we'll have better information to hunt elsewhere and we risk outing actually useful roles in the meantime.

This, btw, is what people were referring to when they said that CFV was likely the vanilla role this game. I called that shit like a week ago.

WRT softclaiming thing: Yes. I believe that there is a high likelihood of Noraa having a role that has something to do with giving or receiving peaches. I am not sure which one, nor does that stop me from pushing Noraa. I have seen softs from people whose roles look to be based around that from no less than 5 people so far, and only one of those is AI in my opinion. I will not be sharing which at this time, because I lowkey think compulsive peach vendor is functionally the vanilla role this game. I would honestly be shocked if there wasn't a scum compulsive peach vendor or if there were more than two scum compulsive peach vendors, but sorting that at the moment is not worth narrowing down the PR pool.

You know what, I agree with this and her'es why. IN the game noraa referenced where she claimed checker after softing tracker, it was pretty jarring how bad of a role she claimed in comparison to what she softed. Meanwhile kanna's soft-to-claim balance doesn't strike as blatantly atrocious in a way that pings as obvtown like that one did. Noraa's claim from before also had a circumstance of her being okay with her death in an earlier stage of the game which led to her getting more pressure because "why is she softing PR like this when she was fine dying earlier, you don't accept death like that as PR". I think that last point is probably the biggest thing making this not comparable.
