i've played with npom once. he was scum, i was town, ico was in that game, he was also town. ico got pushed early, and started doing the thing town!ico does when pushed, which is get defensive and start omgusing. scum was loving it. i was townreading ico. the majority of my time alive that game had been spent screaming how defensiveness/omgus is not scum!indicative and how iconeum is town. the fact that npom is now plainly pushing the same arguments here reads... weird? dunno how serious his accusation of me being daisy's partner because of defending her this way is, but like. i feel like he should know better.

this is why i was sorta willing to vote for cook on d1, but was absolutely refusing to vote for him on d2. i knew that my role *heavily* implied an existence of a cop, and while on d1 it was possible that shiga was a real cop, on d2 cook was obviously the only cop claim that i was absolutely never voting for.

this is also why my play has been *gestures vaguely* like this. i knew that if a cop were to check me, it would be almost single-handedly game losing, because nobody would believe me. i tried to be townread to not get checked, but i tried to not be so townread i get shot. this is also why i lost my shit whenever someone voted me past day 2. i did at some points think that npom might have had a guilty on me on d3, which is why i was... not calm in that conversation. yes, i know cook was dead, but jackson's last game had 2 docs, so what do i know.

oh, i also kinda think this might have been a factor in shiga getting shot night 1, as he at one point claimed to be macho, though i obviously can't know for sure.

some mechanical stuff:

why i am clear - this game is 10:3. by night 3, there were 2 scum dead. which means there's only one scum left alive. that means that that last scum *has* to be doing the kills. which in turn means that the tracker then acts as a sorta cop - if he tracks anyone going nowhere, or tracks them going to someone who's not the nightkill, that person cannot be the last scum who performed the nightkill. as i have no active abilities, he tracked me going nowhere. salsa died by scumkill. therefore i did not kill salsa. amazing.

the tracker can tell the difference between "your target did not go anywhere" and "your action failed, and you did not receive a result". i'm pretty sure deathnote knows the difference, and would've made sure to check with the mod if he was uncertain before dropping the breadloaf of "i would bet my fucking life on datsi being town!"

how i might not be clear - this game is 9:4, and i was not the scum doing the kill on n3, or i'm a ninja.

why these are unlikely - both of these games would be shit to play. i've read almost all mini normal reviews, and nrg does not pass games that are that shit. 9:4, in order to be balanced, would have to be *loaded* with town power roles. that in turn makes it unfun because it turns the game into a ToS-esque solve by prs game. also, as we've had 3 decently strong town prs so far, unless ranny claims a second cop or something, this ain't 9:4.

ninja+tracker is an awful combination just because it can create clears like this, and again, nrg does not pass that shit games. iirc, the last game that had a tracker and a ninja also had a scum tracker enabler, to ensure that if the scum ninja is the last scum alive, the tracker cannot get a false clear and ruin the whole game.

because here's the thing. on n2, there were two scum alive. zuko/fire, the novice vanilla cop, and something else, probably a goon. now, the vanilla cop wasn't multitasking, and the game doesn't have multitasking by default. if we assume fire was being a vanilla cop and copping someone, that means that the goon was doing the kill.

if deathnote tracked someone going nowhere on n2, that's retroactively a clear, right??

i think my logic from last night is sound but i'm not sure it fits with reality. i figured deathnote was softing some sorta investigative yesterday which is why i asked him about npom, and this was his reply. i think the bolded was specifically made so that we don't think he had a clear on him.

i also don't think he worked out the "tracking to nowhere on n2 is a clear" logic, else he would've softed it. he was pretty blatant about the clear on my slot.
