ninja'd typically from my experience refers to a post being made while you're reading the thread, before you hit the reply button, thereby being considered an existing-post when you open the reply window, not causing a "new posts" popup when you submit your post

yeah, so like if the game is so fast-paced that posts are being made quicker than you can read your own posts, and you don't use the quick reply window but the full-blown reply window, if a post is made before you hit "Reply, it will not trigger the new-post popup warning, as it will display in the feed under the reply box, for those discerning enough to read that feed (read: lol nobody)
