I can understand people's unwillingness to play along, given the last quirky game they played, but I expect my participation to bring me wealth and fortune.

It reminds me of how the officers played us when I was in the military. One day they would ask who could drive a car and wanted to do a fun errand. A lot of hands shot up, and of course the winner got to do some boring-ass cleaning job.

The next time they ask for volunteers, there's a noticable lack of hands showing, until one guy finally steps forward and gets the rest of the day off.
