As in: I would expect Americans to maybe know where a couple of major countries are in the same way I’d expect brits to know Cali west, NY east, but I wouldn’t expect the average Brit to have any idea where Idaho is
I think they’re both pretty equally likely in a general sense of Swiss —> Mountains —> Himalayas or Swiss —> Europe —> Czech

I'm alright with Himalayas, I think. I'm also alright with Czech, since they're both nationality descriptors (the hint was Swiss and not Switzerland). If you feel strong about Himalayas, that's fine - I don't feel strongly about any alternatives.
I'm kinda cold about HIMALAYAS. The mountain range in Switzerland is the Alps, not the Himalayas, so while I'm not entirely against it if we have no other good leads I want to see if there are any other obvious connections.
