I just realized that Jake doesn't have one either, maybe Acolyte?
I am a warrior, and that's good(because I have the special EB spell) but we don't need new warriors; but healers are always a good idea.(We need that one magician, though, because of Silence)

If the monster rolls a 3, then yes.
However, normally, at least, the monster can only defend against normal attacks once; and against spells an unlimited amount of time.
So if I attack with 4, you attack with 6 and someone else attacks with 2-1(due to excessive attack penalty) then the minimum damage is 8 against 1d3 defense.
