Ive heard so much about D&D and it sounds so interesting but the game is so overwhelmingly complex that i feel i'd feel lost all the time.
I'd sign up for a game for newbies where newbies are coached.

newbies are welcome and we'll be starting at level 1 so it's a good way to get into the game without getting overwhelmed by choices. i can help you create a character and am willing to help coach though just be aware I'm a novice DM so i may not always be the best teacher.

The audience murmurs when they see something they've never seen before, a black gnome with a heavenly name, some in awe, others in disgust.

Cael walks up to the center of the stage carrying a staff twice his size and his eyes closed, someone in the audience yells “Oi! Look at that, the staff looks like it is dragging down and up the stage the little black creature!”. Everyone laughs.

Cael smirks and opens his eyes and replies pointing at the man's groin. “A Child with a pecker smaller than mine is talking about size! Now that one is one hell of a joke!”. Everyone laughs, shutting up the man and making him leave the establishment totally embarrassed.

Cael then hits the floor with his staff and conjures “Chill Touch”.

Cael: “Who wants to see this ghostly hand from Hades drag that man back here?”

Cael tells the man: “Apologies, I don't have the wisdom that my father had to control my impulses. But i'm working on it.”

Not so fast! I ain't going to no cave without some supplies and a fuller belly.

Cael climbs up a stool and then stands on it to speak to the shop keeper.

“Show me what you got that i can carry in my travels and their prices, but don’t get greedy on me boy! I’m sure you have heard about the ghostly hand by whispering mouths around here.

Some healing potions would be nice.”

Nathaniel looks at Cael, "I'll split the cost with you if you promise to cover me out there."

“It's a deal”

“Anyone got some sort of strategy?

If not i think the infantry should go in the front. Mages and sorcerers behind them and bows behind mages and sorcerers, any objections?”

“Why couldnt it be Ashlyn who uses people's heads as support for their weapons?”.

“You are gonna be alright”

Cael approaches Aulric and check their vitals by putting his small hands on their chest.

“Not gonna lie, that damn goblin almost got you, or maybe your vitality might be a little too low for battle?, watch out for those sneak attacks, them goblins are like that”.

Cael pulls out a potion from his bag pack, but then realizes that Nathaniel bough it too.

“Uuugh, i hate making deals with people, i guess i gotta do some first aid in about 10 seconds before things get more difficult here eh”?

Cael pulls out a syringe with a liquid in it and stabs Aulric with it.

“This is not a potion but it's the next better thing, it's gonna hurt a little though.. ok maybe more than a little…”

“Nobody-shoots-better-than-me my little gnome's ass, watching her fail that shot would be much more satisfying if we were not fighting for our lives, but satisfying nonetheless”.

Cael then yells out loud

“Great shot human! You are definitely giving them a beating…”

“Hey you the Elf! Your kind is known to be great healers, do you happen to be one? If so, help Aulric! I will cloak Dizilpaan with an armor spell! Nod if you agree.”

“For Chyronoum's tits! Am i going to become your designated heala'?, this is not what i signed up for!

Hey human (referring to Ashlyn), check this other syringe made by your race! I bet you it's gonna break too!”.

Cael approaches Dizilpaan and stabs them in the chest!

a couple things catch your eye

one is there is a dead adventurer towards the back of the cavern

there's a passage way deeper into the cavern

lastly, there's a set of colored rocks sitting on the ground next to one of the cavern walls. Make a perception check.

There are 5 rocks of equal size and shape, one red, white, green, blue, and black. There is also a depiction of a dragon carved into the rock, but someone needs to make an arcana check to identify what kind it is.

Lastly, there is a hole in the cavern wall that looks like a rock can be placed in it.

That said these puppies will not survive on their own and their bite is as dangerous as any plague all species ever encountered! So even if they survive they will become new threats to our species and the cycle will keep repeating”.

Cael turns his head on the Elf and replies.

“First, i’m not a human, don’t insult me.

Second, I never said we are the better species but between the survival of their species and mine, make no mistake, i will choose mine. I’m not the suicidal type.

But maybe we can do something about to save the doggies while not putting in danger the lives of traders in the future.”

Cael performs a history check on the puppies to find out the rarity of their species and where their natural habitat usually is.

Then Cael attempts to kill the puppies with Chill Touch.

Cael picks up the remaining Obsidian stones that were left behind, then performs an investigation check in the rest of the cave where the pups are.

Cael recollects memories of his father when he was alive and tried to teach Cael empathy, they were great memories except for the day human bandits with raging death dogs assaulted his village and killed his father.

"You will learn too, kid".

Hours later at the market

“These obsidian stones have great health benefit! They are even associated with eternal youth and im giving it to you for just 50 pieces of gold each, if you make them into a jewel with all those properties! My ma‘am, you can easily make over 300 gold fir each! Or if you sell them to a sorcerer, they can make magic weapons with it! Obsidian stones are THAT good!

So… what is your actual final offer for these stones?”

Cael looks up to the jewel shop owner, raising his eyebrow with a confident inducing smile!

“There should be a name for it!! Something evil! Something like…. Capitalism! If that word even exists.”

Cael hears the human addressing him and pretends he didn't.

“Nonya”.

Caelus sits apart from Ashlyn and the Elf. Then studies the human dressed in an acolyte's robes.
