It could be a permanent Roleblock or an alternative wincon. "Confirming" someone as town isn't really true though because we can only theorize that as the truth. Pretty sure we're meant to be paranoid about it, but the fact that scum keeps killing town read players and Molding controversial players just implies that scum is spewing Mold victims as town.

Alternative scum wincons are entirely possible, SCP UPick had one for instance. Looking up the lore I'm not even sure if it could have a PR analogue that wouldn't be bastard-y, so if it isn't a Roleblock then alt wincon is the only thing that makes sense to me.

I don’t really get why scum would mold controversial slots when those are primary limbait?

That's kind of my point though? If they Molded an obvtown slot then we'd 100% know that it's a scum ability with little reason to question it. But by Molding controversial slots, now town is going to question it and doubt if all the Mold claims are real or come from scum trying to get a free pass. If Mold victims get mis-elim'd it still pushes the scum wincon forward because townies are dying and scum lives one more day.

now that the bunny has replied, here is my reasoning.

so this goes into a little self meta but for the most part, this specific type of analysis tends to work. this is by no means a mathblade level read. I was 100% that dude was scum and that isn't the case here with tictac. but here's the thing. theres a lot of different kind of players out there but almost every single one that has not given me a chance in a TvT situation does it again after the first time. So like if they were town and i was town and they just fully believed i was scum and would not reconsider. Tictac did that in our last game.

Now there are exceptions. Occasionally I play really really towny town games but this isn't one of them so tictac should at least have a SL on me. Most of my posts are not an insane length so reading them shouldn't be an issue. Tictac already gave reads on like seven different people and there is no scum read on me. theres an issue here. another thing is that their posts are VERY tonally different here. I'm lazy so i haven't gone back and looked to be able to pick out the differences but it is definitely pretty different. i dont think the bunny is town here.

its sort of like certain players strike me as insanely scummy and their posts stick out an insane amount to me when im town. pretty sure that is tictac with me.

someone who finds my play style very scummy isn't gonna suddenly not after 1 game. not how it works.

And what if they just used the information they gained from the previous game. And thus conclude that when you play in a way that they considered scum indicative previously, that it is NAI?

nope. not how it works. tictac scum read me in all my games so far. people dont change like that.

its a playstyle clash. it takes more than 2 games to resolve.
