The evidence is that the rules explicitly state the circumstances shifts will happen (an alignment not meeting a minimum requirement), and that scenario being pretty unlikely to actually happen, or at least not likely enough to completely throw out discards as being worth talking about

I said this to Calculus and they have yet to respond other than say they're "unwilling to talk" and also apparently scumread me
