I should clarify that I consider lots of things pressure, one being "lots of votes on me, I need to save myself here" pressure (that would be the e-2 pressure I wasn't a fan of) and another being "let's ask this slot some questions and see what shakes loose", y'know, like you're doing to me

Well, again, we're early times, and I don't know most of this player list, but when I see a post like "gonna re-read and come back with thoughts", I'm kinda sorta expecting a post within that same session, which is to say, give or take a few hours. 8 seems like a lot but what do I know, it's the holidays, maybe he got sidetracked, it happens. For good reasons or bad, it flagged me, and now more than before I want to hear what Charles has to say. At any rate Charles' "absence" from the thread is materially different from Weuler's at this point and conflating the two would be a mistake

Hello!

I was once told by Hopkirk that H based greetings are a 99% accurate scum tell for newb-scum replacing into a game. Given the join date of 1.5 years before me, Charles has all the hallmarks of a newb-scum at this point in the game.

A term of inclusivity. Meant to appeal to all the players and get them on Charles' side. Being an experienced player, Charles is used to games with potentially more than one scum faction and potentially third parties, hence this slip.

The use of this comma shows an understanding and deliberate use of correct grammar. Scum are much more careful with what they say so as not to be caught in an inconsistency or contradiction, whereas town as much more relaxed. This proper use of grammar points towards scum.

A pleading tone meant to make the recipients (which I feel the need to remind you is

) feel superior to Charles and so underestimate their capabilities, letting them sneak under the radar and fool is all.

The scum team are trying to prevent town from finding them. Implanting the concept of "finding" right off the bat from their opening post, Charles is subconsciously feeding the idea they are the one doing the finding.

You may recall from earlier in this analysis a comment about Charles having a firm grasp of grammar. So why then do they choose to use 'a' rather than the more appropriate 'an' here? I can only be Charles compensating for their earlier slip up by using a comma. You may wonder "why did Charles not go back and change the comma after noticing?" And that is a reasonable question. I propose it's because Charles didn't want their post to look overly edited. It's their first post of the game, it's not meant to have much thought put into it as that would make it overly suspicious.

This is possibly the most ingenious choice of word in this post, and I must give props to you for it Charles. Truly inspired. Avatar can be taken in many different ways. Avatar in the way Pavowski took it, Avatar the last airbender TV show, the film that doesn't exist, profile picture. Depending on how each of us respond gives Charles an insight in how we think and therefore how best to manipulate us. It's too late for Pavowski, but I urge the rest of you to just quietly change your profile picture without commenting.

Charles' mistake was using this word. This is what enables me to see the picture that Charles is trying to paint with their post. If you hadn't said picture in your post I don't think I would've been able to catch you Charles. Unless that was the point. Charles wanted to be caught so we could all observe their genius. Just like a serial killer.

I don't think there was anything wrong with putting me at e-2, if there was a quickhammer then it'd be rosy for us, at least one scum would basically have outed themselves. E-2 is not the same as a a hammer, esp. D1.
