Not disputing that it's most likely the simplest explanation, which is that we're in C. But in addition to the mason possibility there's also the possibility that the doc would anticipate the scum going for someone else to kill since they could just roleblock the cop, and try to stop that kill. Which would most likely be me. So the scum would try to go for someone else because the doc would anticipate that they would go for me and so maybe they should go kill Meg after all.
