Reasons behind my targets are reads based off my night result now I'm no longer playing D&D:

I didn't believe KJ's claim and I also SR them so I want to check KJ so today when KJ either backs up their claim or says no I am just VT, I have info from that claim.
Going of general setup design there will be more vanilla roles than PRs so pairing KJ with player X gives me a greater chance of getting info off of KJ claim today. I got the same result and KJ claimed VT. It's more likely player X is VT so I think it's likely KJ is vanilla. Titus has also said KJ didn't visit anyone, +vanilla. I scum read KJ.
I scum read a high probability vanilla role, that makes mafia goon. I also don't think PR scum!KJ plays day 1 like that with the knowledge that the two end day wagons they created are town. Goon!KJ sure, it's a gambit that could pay off great for scum but if it backfires and KJ gets voted out day 2 then it's not a huge loss.

I think it's highly unlikey there are more than 2 goons in this setup given the nerfed factional kill. I think it's unlikely there's more than 1 even, so I don't think it's a bad assumption to make that I didn't pick two goons last night. Ergo, I have a vt clear.

KJ's reasoning about them being scumread and therefore if they were scum would do the kill has got me to reconsider the scumread on them.

For not targeting Mala, in no world do I target both KJ and Mala that's gets so little info it's not even funny. Maybe checking KJ wasn't the most optimal move but I scumread KJ and thought I might be able to catch them out with my results.

Sure, but Neapolitan already exists and is way more likely to have been floated as a fakeclaim than Vanilla Parity Cop. Outside of setups known to have wackier or more convoluted roles, there's just not usually a reason to even think about things like Vanilla Parity Cops.

KJ could be whatever mafia role that isn't giving a vanilla result, and you still get a false positive by targeting someone else cause you're a parity cop. Seriously elly

Thinking on it more, the less I think Mafia Vanilla Parity Cop makes sense. My gut reaction was that it's more useful for scum, and since scum are already inherently nerfed by the delayed kill, scum having decently strong PRs makes sense. My mistake though was that Scum will, at least for a while, have known roles to check against, which kinda negates the whole parity aspect. Why not just give them a straight Neapolitan at that point? And from there why overcomplicate things into a double targeting role you need to carefully keep up with all game? Even if the role is just entirely made up with no basis in reality... Neapolitan is just a better claim. Easier to maintain, easier to understand, easier to not do anything useful with.

So I think I'm back to trusting Elements here.

Scum make terrible fake claims all the time, just like they can push weak arguments (like the one above) if they so choose.

If scum!Elememts claimed Neapolitan they will eventually have to face the "...why are you still alive" question.

If half the crew is Loyal Sailors, and probably 4-5 of the crew is scum, then PRs are a minority, yes.
