If I'm playing wolf it's really easy for me to be the person with the best understand of the mechanics in the game. Usually in theme game's they're thrusted upon you, and I like to look for edges wherever I can find them. So generally I think it's more likely for a wolf to understand how a game mechanically works than say a villager but that doesn't mean it's impossible for a villager to show that they know how the game mechanically works. Idunno if that makes sense.
