The barrels shifted around when you were least expecting it, at least between your visits to the room. It was a jail-cell to you. This room. Your crime, unknown to you, but clearly not to whoever, or whatever decided to keep you trapped here. Worst of all, you couldn't find that tape recorder. It would just pain you to know there was hope, and have it taken away. At least this way, whatever pitiful existence you maintained in this purgatory would be the same each and every time you return.

All you could hope to do was just sit in that wooden chair and stare into your window outside. Taking note of the pane, and how it could be pushed outwards... outwards? Quickly rushing to your feet, you ran over to the window, and looked at it. There was something outside. The tape recorder. Dragging the chair across the room, you'd step onto it and open the window.

Chilly air bit your hand as you grabbed the recorder and pulled it inside, as an impending sense of doom welled up inside of you. Slamming the window shut, you could see the outside darken as you stared in horror at the pair of eyes staring at you from outside. Falling backwards, you woke up out of purgatory.
